Just look at the comments.

And yet, those overnationalistic Jai Hinds claimed that China is the one who is the ultra mega villian bad guy? Claiming that China is the one who got herself surrounded by unfriendly nations and enemies?? Claiming that China is the only one who has territorial disputes with every single one of her neighbour???

This article, when it states it has almost a year since this Chip 4 Alliance was put forth by the Americans, not much has happened.

Seems to me it is clear, that the others do not want to join, and that their strategy is to delay and dither, and hope the Americans forget all about it.

It is kind of funny, because China is watching them squirm. China will not tell anyone of their internal developments in IC, for that will make them squirm even more.

This reminds me of Carl von Clausewitz. He wrote that in warfare, the longer the attack is taking place, the weaker it is, such as the longer the offensive thrust into hostile territory, the longer it goes, the weaker it becomes.

This tech war, and this Chip 4 Alliance probably is the most recent attack. Yet, it has gone nowhere, for like a year almost. That is exactly what Clausewitz saw on the actual battlefield.

So this Chip 4 Alliance, even if it comes into fruition, will be weak sauce.

Look, it is warfare, and you got to make these decisions in real time.

How to avoid the attack, how to mass own forces, how to counter attack.

Is this Chip 4 Alliance worthy of pooling resources to counter it directly?

Or do we judge that is will going to die by itself as a real threat, according to Clausewitz and his experiences in the Prussian wars.

Better to mass and attack somewhere else?

Now if you make the wrong decision, you die yourself.

That was why Huawei was so good in the fight. Ren Zhengfei is PLA commader. F you. Fight!

For the price of the Swedes and Finns to join NATO, they must volunteer as first wave before the Anglos spill their own blood (as an aside, is this the reason Sweden has been so ready to receive Afghan immigrants in the past few years? Hardened fighters ready to make another "Emirate of Khorasan" that's totally not a CIA inspired pipe dream?)

Seems likes Marcos had a fruitful meeting, good to know.

- Better trade balance
Bro China need to import more pineapple, mango and durian to balance the massive trade deficit with China. For me the best way is to import English teachers and nurses, the Philippine human resources are our number one export and Marcos need to explore talks while the door are still open because compare to American and British teacher, I will say we are better and Filipinos can easily adapt to different culture. ;)
- bilateral communication on south china sea
Will Prelude to a COC on SCS.
- Manufacturing opportunities in the Philippines
Not gonna happen, with high cost of electricity, labor and land acquisition, it will be difficult unless the Philippine establish a free trade zone like the one in Subic and Clark which is politically sensitive.
- Invest of around $22.8 billion from Chinese companies.
Mostly in infrastructure, nothing new BUT a continuation of Duterte BBB.

Only time will tell, Marcos did mention he talked about energy infrastructure even talked about nuclear power reactors.
Given China's advancement in nuclear 4th gen reactor design that can't be used to proliferate weapon grade nuclear material. Nuclear should now be an option for more nations to upgrade their energy infrastructure.

I think the energy prices will be fixed in the future especially once power of Siberia 2, Qatar expansion will come online in the next 3~4 years. From what gathered those two project will mostly supply to China and gives China the option to redistribute those energy flows into Asia.

Bro I read from Western political pundits wondering why the Chinese hadn't retaliate on the chip ban, well the simply answer is the Chinese will build it themselves instead of whining about the unfairness and claim the victim card.;) A perfect example is Tiangong Space Station, the CNC Machine and many more. The Chauvinist Chinese will never bow down to any Westerner, it may sound pretentious BUT compared with American Exceptionalism, with the lesson learn from hundred years of humiliation, we have a noble mission which is the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, culture and its people.

Politically sensitive and there are a lot of NIMBY activist. Unless Marcos declare Martial Law and seize the oligarch massive land holdings which he won't cause he is part of the same tree.

It's about damn time. The 14th Dalai Lama had lost his legitimacy by supporting separatism against the nation that approved his appointment. He then ran to India, the successor to the British Raj, and became an Indian himself. He then tried to end the centuries old practice of selecting the next Dalai Lama from Tibet itself. And he defacto tried to hand that power of appointment to the US and India. A man like that should have been stripped of his title and replaced long ago. His mistique and legend was wholly blown out of proportion by the USA and India. Both of whom won't hesitate to eradicate other traditions that they disliked.

The Dalai Lama must be a Tibetan, residing in Tibet, China. He cannot be an Indian. India had never even existed when Tibet was already a part of Qing dynasty era China. This nonsense about India and Tibet must end.

In 1793, after dispelling Gurkha invaders, the Qing government restored order in Xizang and promulgated the Imperially Approved Ordinance for Better Governance of Xizang (the 29-Article Ordinance), improving systems by which the central government administered Xizang, according to the Xinhua News Agency.

The ordinance stipulated that the reincarnation of the Dalai Lama and other grand Living Buddhas has to follow the procedure of "drawing lots from the golden urn" and that the selected candidate would be subject to approval by the central government of China, the document said.
The current Dalai Lama and his predecessor, for historical reasons were not selected from the Golden Urn. The Golden Urn is in China. So China can technically select and appoint a new Dalai Lama, and delegitimize the current Dalai Lama even when he is still alive. Let them idiots scream in horror. This is following age-old Chinese-Tibetan tradition, they have no say in this.
