That's the American version of the story. In actuality, it was an hour meeting of Wang Yi telling them to get eat a sack o' dicks while Blinken bows and gives little meek handshakes.
They left Russia because they were working for foreign companies and with SWIFT money transfers being blocked they could not continue to operate and get paid without leaving. IT workers who had jobs for Russian companies and clients have remained there for the most part.Russians have some of the smartest people on the planet, but they won't be using that human capital to full capacity anytime soon as long as cronyism and corruption remain endemic issues. Google and Telegram could've been Russian companies, rather than simply being founded by Russian expats. Not to mention, since the war started millions of Russian tech workers have already fled overseas and as long as Russia remains the way it is, they're probably not likely to come back.
Well we know the American so much that we create a hotline.....lol from this the next step is a code of conduct in SCS. Again the US miscalculate, they think they can achieved easy victory by bully us, then bride us (mostly the oligarch and potential presidential candidate) on the cheap (my god $15 million can't buy you much in this inflation regime) cajole us and lately reminiscent the good old days of brotherhood which for us is nothing BUT blatant exploitation. So yes, the little brown brother is wiser now cause we have an Alternative with NO historical baggage.Yeah brother, hear what you are saying.
However, I don't really see it happening.
The timing of the trip is telling.
Remember when the Soviets invaded Afghanistan? They choose Christmas Day, because no one would be paying attention. January 1, 2023 is a Sunday, which means January 2 is a holiday. So people too drunk and hungover in America to notice anything happening on the 3rd, which is a work day.
Suppose someone noticed, and wanted to do something to derail the trip.
What can they do? Bring Macros back? But he's right here?!
They cannot bring back the previous guy, who was great, as he hated their guts.
Maybe Aquino is available. Maybe Guaido is available.
Seems to me that the provocations with the spy planes, was just a test for the region. The Americans trying to figure out who is still interested in their stupid games in ASEAN.
Meanwhile, China will try to slam the door shut on their American faces with this President Marcos trip.
It would be like the recent Middle East summit for Xi, just this is part 2.
Haha!
That's a good thing in your view? That a Russian entrepeneur had to start one of the biggest social media apps in the world outside of Russia, in order for it to be succesful? You might have your own way of looking at things, but the CEO of Telegram was pretty clearcut that he felt Russia is no place for starting a business. And frankly, I have no idea what point you are making with the rest of your post. This is not correct way at look at things. Telegram better stayed around UAE. That broaden its appeal.
And? As long as the current policies in Russia continue, there's unlikely to be a normalization of relations with the West and thus point still stands that those tech workers will unlikely come back. As for what's left in Russia, all they have left to work with is the Russian market and a few ex-Soviet states. Which is pretty tiny and unlikely to give further rise to globally competitive companies. They left Russia because they were working for foreign companies and with SWIFT money transfers being blocked they could not continue to operate and get paid without leaving. IT workers who had jobs for Russian companies and clients have remained there for the most part.
And here I am saying he is a western stooge and nobody here believes me.
Hopefully Marcos plays his cards correctly, otherwise we'll get a bigger version of 2016 SCS drills next year.
We will find out imminently! And here I am saying he is a western stooge and nobody here believes me.
he can hire all what ever he can find in UAE.That's a good thing in your view?
