Regarding deletion of data, does anyone truly know if its a soft or hard delete? Its quite easy to actually implement a soft delete just to hide it from the user and still keep the data.
Google probably hard deletes the data that takes a lot of space (e.g., photos) but keeps a copy of your important/interesting information available, I'm sure they can use some sort of "national security" reasons to justify that.
Regardless NSA always has a copy of your data on their servers.
