The Pelosi trip is an obvious trap, just like the “guardrails”, and the US will have gamed various Chinese responses and have escalatory replies ready.
America wants to go now, China wants to postpone.
Do you think China is stupid enough to fall for this trap? Or, Do you think Xi is ruled by emotions and will rise to provocation?
Best response from China is one which turns the tables on the US, just like they did with the guardrails.

I have doubt. Maybe a few internet trolls get angry, nothing more than that. People have faith in the CCP in the long run and that is unwavering.
By that logic, China should have fought this conflict 70 years ago when it had nothing but human wave tactics and an economy based on farming. But instead, the CCP chose to wait, grow China for decades until it had a large military, then a modern military, then a military that would most likely win over the US in the ROC. And in parallel, the largest economy in the world by PPP holding all major nations as their main supplier, able to backfire all sanctions against it. And now China is in the process of developing the most powerful military in the world and the largest and most advanced economy in the world. Seeing those trends, I'd like to wait on retaking Taiwan until the US can be cowed into guaranteed inaction and unless the trend of China's rise changes, there's no hurry to change that strategy.
So basically tactically unfit person with no patience and a "F- it, it's just try now and see what happens" attitude.
However they squirm to try to get leverage over China, the CCP is always ready with the best response for China's future and overall goal even though it may not always be the most immediately and emotionally satisfying response.

Brave of you to think US political leaders under the Biden administration are capable of such co-ordination and planning or that there is anyone at the helm steering the ship.
The Biden admin has been consistent in its inconsistency, with Biden’s mind having checked out early, along with his few remaining marbles, all his underlings are off pursuing their own agendas.
You also need to consider who it is you are dealing with. People like Pelosi are the products from the era of unchallengeable US military dominance. I don’t think her mind would be able to process any information that challenged that fundamental cornerstone belief.
I would not at all be surprised if, in the end it transpired that aids had to make up some sugared lies to get her to declare TacticalCovid and cancel her last planned trip. Probably not too dissimilar from the nonsense spun to sugarcoat the earlier cancelled Kroft trip about no F15s being available. As if some F15s being present would have been able to make the slightest difference.
So this time Pelosi had someone confirm F15 availability and declared the trip back on before her underlings could come up with another excuse on why that was a terrible idea.
