This is honestly the scariest news I've seen this week. Jiankui He of CRISPR baby fame is allowed to have a new lab in Beijing. Does China really want to open that Pandora's box?

China has done human testing to create biologically enhanced super soldiers, says top U.S. official

U.S. intelligence agencies didn't immediately respond to requests for comment about whether China seeks super soldiers like those in such films as "Captain America."

WASHINGTON — U.S. intelligence shows that China has conducted "human testing" on members of the People's Liberation Army in hope of developing soldiers with "biologically enhanced capabilities," the top U.S. intelligence official said Friday.

John Ratcliffe, the director of national intelligence, included the explosive claim in a long Wall Street Journal op-ed in which he made the case that

to the U.S.

This news/propaganda came out four years ago, written by none other than John Ratcliffe, the next director of the CIA ;)

I think there's an element to this and that's why I think it's a good idea to keep the sanction on Rubio. That way Rubio can't visit China and instead they will need to ask Musk to go (and he can always do it under the guise of visiting his factory in Shanghai if a cover is needed). Musk can then do closed door diplomacy Nixon style.

It's not clear if Trump and Musk are really such good friends that Trump would view this arrangement positively, but I'm very sure Musk would enjoy being the new Kissinger.

It also has the benefit of sowing discord among the new administration as Rubio would surely see this as Musk elbowing in on his turf.

Maybe Marco will become a scape goat and May Musk will be selected as a replacement.

What's the definition of ideal? Since US will never willingly accept it's proper place beneath China, the ideal person should then be someone that will make the unwilling transition as easy and quick as possible.
What China need isn't an intelligent moderate who will hide their plans, court allies and make long term plans, for China the idea US leader is precisely a dumb hawk who will pick a fight with everyone but doesn't know how to fight.
Rubio, and Trump who picked him, are ideal candidates.

One should never doubt the intelligence of any competitor. Rubio has been reading up and being coached by the elite technocrats like peter thiel on policies. The positive of Rubio is being unhinged which may sway traditional us allies to hedge like they did in Trump previous administration.

The first intelligent thing any American decision makers can do if they want to compete with China is to actually learn Chinese, but they don't do they?

The American system by design reward psychopathy, psychopath can be very successful, but psychopaths are never successful because they're intelligent.

China should just ignore all the provocations from the US, because the future belongs to China.

However, it doesn't mean that China is not preparing for the worst.

China arms itself for potential trade war with Donald Trump

Beijing has enacted sweeping laws since US president-elect’s first term that would allow it to retaliate if threatened

LMAO opinion piece of the day:

Trump Could Win the Contest With China Once and for All

Meanwhile, this is the reality of the US, no wonder its population is among the most brainwashed in the world, and such idiotic opinion piece can find an audience.

Another one goes back to China.

What the chances there be a thaw?
In the video, marco say that shld hav a balance, both can be prosperous, but he see imbalance if china leads or controls Ai or Quantum computing...

Arent CN been saying that the world is big enough for both US and CN to be prosperous? Also wasnt US leading in tech for decades before, wont CN just say they also want to be balanced it out?

I remember when this news came out, western tech forums were blasting this guy, and China / Chinese people as a whole of course, on morality, ethics, playing god, whatever shit. Whereas titles like

reveal what westerners think when they think they will be the ones controlling this stuff.

Simple rule of thumb: When westerners tell rest of the world to do X, best course of action is either ignore or do the opposite of X.
