The problem with the US following China's "example" is that would be an admission Americans weren't superior. Just like how they don't like Taiwanese chip engineers saying they're better than American ones. If it were the other way around Americans would gladly admit they were superior. I remember when I was in high school whites would openly say they were better at kung fu than Chinese were. So ignore how whites will tell you they invented making computer chips so by their own logic they will always be superior.

29 year prison sentence. OK not bad, not bad. They didn't put him in a wheelchair for life like I said but it's better than nothing I suppose.
The problem is Asians would probably rather get rid and expel him. That's what South Korea did with American servicemen who raped and molested Korean women and children. I'm skeptical of all this talk of how many years he'll be in a Korean prison. Somali has cut all his hair off because they can see if he's been using drugs from his hair. Also that guy that brought Somali to the comfort woman statue to make an apology could be a fugitive from the US hiding out in South Korea. YouTubers in the US are looking at him too. His asshole friend too that was with him supposedly fled South Korea back to the US already. He should be executed too.

Having Rubio as secretary of state isn't ideal for China but is it worst than Pompeo? What people leave out is that Rubio is much more interested in fighting the "commies" back in latin america because of his cuban-anti-castro complex. There likely model which is still concerning (also as part of China containment strategy) is to regime change countries like brazil / mexico to some right wing usa vassal government.
Rubio is probably gonna be just as bad as Pompeo. In Trump 1.0, he started out with Rex Tillerson as the Secretary of State. Not great, but not a full-blown neocon. But in Trump 2.0, he is already stacking up his cabinet with neocons, starting with Rubio as his Sec of State. Its already stacked full of China hawk cowboys. So Trump 2.0 is gonna go after China big time. Therefore I'm sensing already that Trump 2.0 is gonna be really happening. Even if Rubio wants more attention on Latin America, the other China hawks are gonna pulling Trump's attention back to China. I expect just as many, if not more provocations on China in Trump 2.0.

But, China is gonna be much more ready to face Trump 2.0 this time. The CPC and the Chinese people have already been hardened, unlike during Trump 1.0. There are gonna be less surprises, and less forgiveness. China have already moved on from thinking about returning back to the "normal times". The last remnants of those thoughts were dead and buried during the early part of the Biden administration.

To add to that, Russia have also been hardened already. There is no going back to "normal" ever again. The West had cheated Russia way too many times. Trump and his China hawks will try for awhile to woo Russia over, and then they are gonna be pissed when Russia won't roll over for them. Then they'll go after Russia too. There is now way too much momentum in the current China-Russia bromance for Trump to unravel. This relationship had been building for decades already, while Trump is gonna be around again for just another four years.

Well given how generally low performing and perhaps simply technology incapable these western people are right now, it’s a forgone conclusion that it simply will not be possible to conduct this force skill transfer like these pirate bastards want to do it. By the time they eventually manage to build this factory (would take until 2027 minimum and even that is being generous), China will have taken back Taiwan and have already caught up in semi conductor tech and then for added insult to injury, price the USA out of the market for good, rendering that factory in Arizona a stupid waste of time.

I don’t know if China is behind this whole woke thing in America but from what I can see, this has got to be the biggest self own in history for the U.S. because the sheer damage it has done to the US hegemony is simply impossible to calculate.

Interesting because Marco Rubio when he running for President against Trump, he all of the sudden sounded realistic in regards to foreign policy compared to him. Now he's back to being absurd but who knows when it comes to Trump. Trump recently in an interview was coy when answering questions about raising tariffs, he said it might be lower than is expected in regards to China. Elon Musk has to be aware his Tesla factory in Shanghai might get nationalized if Trump carries out his threats. Tesla might take a huge hit having Trump's ear or the other way around might be happening.

Hopefully he can sneak out and be on the receiving end of a drug related execution in the PRC.
What a stupid son of a nice lady. Seriously, he will now lose 29 years of his life in a prison cell for being a stupid retard in a country that simply doesn’t forgive his kind of behaviour.
Still if he somehow manages to get out of this one, he is going to be scared for a while. Still I do hope the USA takes him him, if only to ruin the relationship between the USA and South Korea more plus make the leadership their look even more like pussies

What's the definition of ideal? Since US will never willingly accept it's proper place beneath China, the ideal person should then be someone that will make the unwilling transition as easy and quick as possible.
What China need isn't an intelligent moderate who will hide their plans, court allies and make long term plans, for China the idea US leader is precisely a dumb hawk who will pick a fight with everyone but doesn't know how to fight.
Rubio, and Trump who picked him, are ideal candidates.

It’s basically irrelevant who is appointed into which post. What they say and what they do once in office will have almost zero impact on the underlying hard power dynamics between America and China. That is the only contest that matters.

There will never be a perfect time for China to take on America, but today’s China is radically different from the one Trump first encountered when he was first in office.

While American talking heads like Rubio have only talked about de-coupling and de-risking, China has been the one who has actually done the de-risking.

America today is as reliant on Chinese imports as ever before, if not more so. OTOH, China has grown its economy so much and diversified so widely that even if it stop all exports to America overnight, it’s economy is still going to growth faster than America’s even if America by magic didn’t suffer any supply shocks from loosing all imports from China, which it will, and those shocks will be crippling all by themselves.

So the likes or Rubio call talk all they want, but if they take any concrete action that crosses Chinese red lines, the China today has far more levers to pull to hit America back. Those punches will hit America harder and cost China far less than the first time around. So I am not expecting China to be as restrained and proportional in its retaliation as it was last time.

And if America wants to throw its dummy out the pram, the PLA is also far better prepared.
