Because his actions directly and indirectly (*cough* Biden) has more or less benefited China significantly while causing turmoil in the US. Plus unless he drops dead between now and 2024 then his coming back for president again. Think about the Democrats. They have no one for 2024. Kamala, Pete, AOC, Bernie, Biden, Hillary? Dead on arrival. It’s either Trump or DeSantis now and I think Trump is the preferable option.

Let me try to understand the logics here.
The US told EU not to buy Russian gas. The European paid China an arm and a leg for LNG, which the Chinese bought originally from the US at a cheap price. To backfill their internal need, the Chinese will buy from Russia dirt cheap the same gas that the European did not want to buy.

Not just Russian wheat. Stupid Europeans just banned steel and iron ore imports from Russia at the same time European steel mills shut down because of high energy costs. I guess the Russian steel will instead be used for Russian tanks and the iron ore will be exported to India and China. Europeans can buy Chinese steel I guess but Japanese probably already at the head of the queue to get it. Or will be soon. Japanese economy is highly dependent on energy imports too.
Europe banned the bank that Russian LNG company Novatek uses for financial transactions from SWIFT. While Gazprom also has LNG it is way more limited in scope. I think once the North Sea Route thaws all this LNG will either be going to Asian markets or be smuggled into Europe via Norway as usual.
Yeah that is basically it. It is a massive own goal. The worst thing is the Europeans want to push the energy market liberalization in Europe to new heights. Because that worked so well for Enron and last winter in Texas.
Maybe Singapore should adhere to Lee Kuan Yew's wisdom and stay out of the big game between world powers.
