Exactly lmao does he even know what the property markets are like in places like NYC, LA, SF, San Jose, Chicago? Or other western cities like Vancouver, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Paris, Berlin?

He had to cherry pick Houston suburbs?

Has this guy ever owned property before?
Yes, in the still relatively inexpensive Malaysia.

North Korea doesn't have to worry about a colour revolution sponsored by the US or South Korea.

Remember how the current North Korea leader Kim Jong-un was actually the younger son.
His elder brother was supposed to be the next leader, but grew out of favour. Then he lived in exile in Macau/China/Singapore.

Also note that it is China which has the most influence amongst the North Korean elite.
Remember how Kim Jong-un had his uncle killed because he was too close to China.

So if anything, China would be the one arranging or supporting a revolution in North Korea, in order to preserve stability.
Good point. However, regardless of the sponsor of a hypothetical color revolution, the supposed craziness keeps everyone in check, and that protects the current government. It is not craziness out of emotions, but instead out of strategy.

Has this been linked or posted here before? If so pardon for reposting this opinion piece from some of the foremost intellectual giants in American Foreign policy academic circles and foremost geopolitical magazine, Foreign Policy. Not to mention that these geniuses are the master teachers of @Sleepystudent and his many iterations, the latest of which is @Yukiolweipqled51 who recently opined their latest take on the hapless East and the "no chance" China.

China Is a Declining Power—and That’s the Problem. The United States needs to prepare for a major war, not because its rival is rising but because of the opposite.

Rediculous. If China is a declining power, then why all the whining and bitching and why is Gordon Chang becoming more and more of a drama queen…

I actually have a different opinion on North Korea. North Korea isn’t doing that for s**ts and giggles. They have to do it since South Korea, Japan, and the US military are right next to them. They have no economic clout and only have nukes. Before anyone mentions China’s reformations, the Chinese nearly destroyed themselves to rapidly modernize and catch up. People were ASHAMED of being Chinese back in the 80’s, 90’s, and early 2000’s. The government was also corrupt due to the rapid expansion of the economy. Fortunately, the West was trapped in the Middle Eastern quagmire and the DPP was too cocky to make a move. Imagine if North Korea were to pursue what the Chinese did. They are smaller and have a bigger target on their back because of South Korea’s desire for reunification and the US’s desire to get right next to the Chinese border. The only way for them to protect themselves from a color revolution is by acting crazy. By being crazy, no one will want to cause trouble for them since things can quickly get hairy. In short and IMO, once the US threat has been removed, North Korea can finally pursue the needed economic reformations, which they are doing right now, and get their economy on its feet.
What do you mean DPP was too cocky to make a move?
DPP thought all their cards were in their hands after this:

Recently, he's been driven mad into slandering China
I know why that happened, and there are good examples not far from today, Gorbachev and Yeltsin, former leaders of Communist Party who destroyed and banned Communist Party. Or a little earlier, Wang Jingwei, former leader of ROC who turned over to Japan and fought against ROC. Or Hitler who infamously commended his "loved" German people unworthy to live just before Berlin's fall because German people were not able to fulfil his desire of conquering the world.

Their common feature is that they all claim and act as if they love the country that they think they can control and influence greatly. Once they realize that they don't get things their way because their own failures or people in the country disagree with them, they went berserk, jump to the opposite side and try to destroy everything they "loved".

Such people are opportunists, love no one but themselves only. Their only interest is to use their "loved" people and country as a stepping stone to fulfil their personal desire of being the top dog of the world. A good example from him is this "China is great in building HSR and other super projects, but China is destroying Chinese culture. His oversea community is the true carrier of Chinese culture. China's opening up is the result of Li Guanyao's advice."

He is not alone as such "China lover" though, not only on the street but also this forum. It is easy to distinct them by asking the question "are they willing to concede or compromise when they appear to be the minority among Chinese even if they may be right". It is that "willingness to be together for better and for worse" defines who they really are.

The current policy toward Taiwan is the worst possible combination. Washington maintains an implicit commitment to defend the island if China ever decides to use force to compel reunification. That is an increasingly dangerous and unwise commitment–especially as China’s economic and military power continues to mount.

This was back in 2006. China's military power was "dangerous" back then ? Now it is what?

I totally understand all the excellent points you wrote but what's puzzling and disappointing at the same time with @Hendrik_2000 is his seeming disregard to the country that ought to be rightfully compared to China which is India. Both countries are similar in size, population, and had 2 years overlapped with respect to their independence India in 1947 and the PRC in 1949. As we can all bear witness the two countries growth and development couldn't be further apart from each other. While China managed and still manages to find a way to work with it's avowed strategic rivals like America, Europe, and before Soviet Russia to ensure that China's economic development would not be impeded - which also shows that CPC leadership are not governed by emotional tantrums - and progress unencumbered. Compares that to India's boisterous and loud pronouncements of Superpower India without building up it's important sectors to actually realize that laudable goal, not to mention that it's people and leaders are guided by the misallocation of misplaced confidence of picking a fight with a much more powerful country in China. So rather than allowing their partnership with China to blossom to it's fullest potential the Ladakh episode and their strategic miscalculation has only brought an inevitable slowdown to that countries vital technology sector. Their deficit and procurement of goods from China has actually INCREASED not DECREASE DESPITE THE JAI HINDS DECLARATION and gloating of kicking Chinese investments etc....

If @Hendrik_2000 admonishments and pleading were actually heeded by preceding CPC leadership then the China we all know today wouldn't exist full stop. China would be a giant North Korea always willing to fire their missiles whenever the leadership feels slighted and would then threaten to unleash hell in the world because of massive insecurity complex. None of us Chinese would be proud of this type of belligerent, emotionally stunted government coming from the version of China @Hendrik_2000 would love to see.
I think what Hendrik and the like-minded don't realize is that strategically China is now on the offensive. As long as China stays the course, the pushbacks from the US and its allies are merely bumps, debris and potholes on the road.

China may still need to maneuver here and there, or pause to clean up the mess. But it is not be deterred.

The irony here is China is on its way to dominating the world, but it takes time, patience, and most importantly picking the right battles to do that. That seems like weakness to people who need instant gratification.

Talk about patience, his avatar is Zhang Fei who is well known for the bad temper and easy to flip. The choice does reflect his personality.

The US is losing it. It is making so many demands to UAE to drop cooperation with China, that it alienated UAE so much that it suspended the F-35 mega deal

The United Arab Emirates has suspended a multi-billion dollar deal to buy US-made F-35 fighter jets, in a sign of Abu Dhabi's growing frustration with Washington's attempts to limit Chinese technology sales to the oil-rich Gulf state.
