So apparently the US wins the gold medal for word gymnastics. Yesterday all the news were telling how Biden is sticking to Trump's tariffs and now today US companies that wanted them ended can now get exemptions all so Biden can look tough on China to the American people while US corporations can just get a pass where those tariff laws mean nothing. And they have pride thinking they're a democracy...? Look how many times they have lie to their own people to do what they say they're not doing.

What happened to "decoupling" from China which was of national security importance. Now they're calling for "recoupling?" It's the exact same thing! Like I've been saying, if China needed the US more than the US needed China, why not end all relations? If they don't need China, it should be easy to do. The fact is decoupling was just a threat hoping China will submit to concessions favorable to the US. No different from recoupling because it's the exact same things they were demanding before in order for it to happen.

.
I saw someone's amazing mental gymnastics on this yesterday on reddit, are you ready? He said:

"Since China only completed 69% of the target for phase 1 trade deal we need to remove some of the tariff on Chinese imports, that way China makes more money from exports to the US so then they can use that money to buy more agricultural products from the US per the phase 1 deal"

I wanted to argue with him but then I thought about what he said and it seems it does kind of make sense from a recoupling sense. It's just that when taken together with trade war 1.0 it becomes a "jokes on you I was only pretending to be a retard".

What's the point of China going? Discuss China's part distributing vaccines when they already claim to be vaccinating the world and China is not? They want to try to convince China that it's the gods of human rights punishing China with sanctions so they shouldn't retaliate because they need the money? They want to trap China into a corner if Xi were there when now over video conference China can cut the power and claim a power shortage.

Speak from a position of strength, lol.
At this point, Biden can't punish China economically without hurting American consumers' wallets, and dooming Democrats' midterm election.

China is the loser in this deal... this is like me getting the credit limit raised on my credit card so I can spend more without ever having any intention to pay it back in the first place...
You would be correct if China's holding of US debt is increasing, as it means converting that trade surplus into dollar holdings. But in fact the opposite is happening.
