But that would include lifting all sanctions on Huawei and all Chinese companies
No. Ironically, these sanctions should stay. Except Huawei, I dont trust other companies that they wont immediately drop their localisation efforts and instead choose building their entire product lines on Western IP. Thus, these sanctions should stay.

These companies are 100% idiotic. You cannot trust they wont immediately drop their new Chinese suppliers the moment the "divine" and superior Western tech becomes available to them

They need to allow tsmc making chips for Huawei, and also allow Huawei 5G equipment to be installed in the US.
No way this happens. The Huawei ban has been a mainstream media story many times. The US would never accept such a public humiliating retreat/surrender. The moment Biden agrees to this, is when the Republicans win against Democrats

They need to allow ASML selling the best machines to SMIC.
No thanks. ASML has shown how "trustworthy" it is. Domestic Chinese DUV/EUV companies need a company like SMIC to buy their products in order to support their operations.

Buying foreign DUV/EUV machines should be severly restricted as soon as domestic replacements are developed.

These token moves mean nothing in the long run. Soon China will suspend all trade with the USA and then after that dump all the US treasuries onto the market without warning. The west loves to portray the current crisis as one that will collapse the US economy but in reality, the opposite shall happen. IS the USA ready to sustain the kind of loses for the sake of an island that is half the world away when they have already ran away from Afghanistan and in the process of doing so in the middle east.

It is not about whether these sanctions should stay or not. It is the Chinese government that is requesting lifting of all sanctions, otherwise there will be no further discussion between the two countries. But the yankees are now desperate about a meeting.

That is not in the interests of China. Best for China to continue growing a lot faster and manage a gradual US decline

In the best of worlds, yeah that would be preferred as an option but China in the event of a war or a do or die situation where the USA still demands goods (for toilet paper) without allowing China to trade for what they needs and in fact goes to crazy lengths to prevent such a thing, then really, China has to be prepared to sink the US economy and sink it so hard that will get the point that a relation ship isn't a one side street where one side can dictate what one can or cannot do. Of course China shouldn't act first but with the USA rapidly increasing tensions, well they need to know that once the red line is crossed, they are going to suffer as a result
