@BlackWindMnt excellent analyst bro, and I think they had the TW commitment to build a FAB in Japan. So the hallowing out of TW tech industries had accelerated with JP, the US and EU each had their pieces of the pie! leaving out China? Well those IP will eventually reach the Chinese cause those technical personnel will find employment there instead.
TSMC is in fact building a new fab in Nanjing at the moment. How do I know? I recently bought an apartment next door to it and the prices has already gone up.

@Temstar I've never been to Nanjing and I hope to visit your beautiful city one day, okay lets get back to topic, bro is there any rumors that TSMC may actually building a 14nm FAB that can easily upgraded to 7nm? those were the money is and since it may take 2 years for a FAB to be finished maybe a hedging bet? I'm speculating of course cause by the time that FAB is finished China may already flooded the market for 28nm chips?

China’s top diplomat Yang Jiechi will hold talks with US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan in Switzerland this week, according to sources familiar with details of the meeting.
“It can be seen as a meeting in which the two sides attempt to rebuild communication channels and implement the consensus reached between the two leaders,” a person familiar with the arrangements said.
A second source said Yang was to depart China on Tuesday, and one item on the agenda was the possibility of a summit between Xi and Biden.

@Overbom bro Kerry had a hand and Meng release is a pre condition?
I think it mostly about seeing how they couldnt make China change its position.

You remember all the media fake news this year. All the aggressive rhetoric, all the talks with "allies and partners", making noises about trade sanctions etc.

Meanwhile China is now on a mission crusade against US interests. Iran, Afghanistan, exporting inflation back to the US, climate etc.

To conclude, China has shown that whatever the US throws at it, it will withstand it without backing down. Meanwhile it occasionally throws a punch or two back at the US which cause serious disruption to it.

I have read many Japanese comments at Japanese yahoo and Japanese websites. Surprisingly, the majority of them called for the government to be tough on China and support Taiwan more.
Very soon, Japan is going to suffer the same fate they unleashed on Chinese all those years ago, is it me or are the current times the literal reverse in position for every side imaginable, where the axis of evil (Russia, China, Iran, etc) are basically the side with the most justification to basically fight and defeat the opponent as well has performing less in ways of atrocities then the allied forces (nato, USA, Japan, etc) who are basically cowardly hypocrites trying to hide under the banner of justice whereas the reality is that they are the ones who not only started the fight and murdered countless innocent people for no real reason, but still try to say they are righteous in doing so. Does the Japanese have the balls to die for what they believe in, with them being much weaker then they once are

No overtures to the US until they meet all the points that were kindly provided in Tianjin.
But that would include lifting all sanctions on Huawei and all Chinese companies. They need to allow tsmc making chips for Huawei, and also allow Huawei 5G equipment to be installed in the US. They need to allow ASML selling the best machines to SMIC.
