Ive been browsing more vlogs. You may have heard of some guy called Small Brained American. He made a video saying India sucks and Jai Hinds got so mad about it some guy even made a response to it.
Well apparently he goes around a lot of places. He is a sort of weeb since he was in Japan for a year. So he originally was skeptical about China but visited it anyway just this week.
Look how happy he is in comparison. In his latest video he went to Ordos in Inner Mongolia. The one that westoids say is a ghost city. Apparently thats all BS according to him since he went there and there is loads of activity.
Point is India feels entitled to be respected without putting in the work. China on the other hand lets its results do the talking.
I dunno why but I feel all those guys who said China has no soft power coz of muh ccp are getting exposed as morons now who don't actually know anything about China and are going into hiding. Im still calling them out btw. I still feel soft power is overrated compared to hard power but the point is China lets the results do the talking. And people are realizing it now.
Btw it feels hard to believe the Taxi driver only asked for US$4 + tip. But assuming he has enough money to survive, he like other people in China can think long term. Like this video that was created is worth potentially millions in terms of PR and image. More people would be willing the invest there. Its far more important than asking for like 10 bucks instead since the potential earnings coming in from a good video is far more than 30 taxi trips. Just look how much Indian tourism has dropped and you will understand how much gain/damage a video like this can produce.
Great post, I watched his videos previously, I was just about to write a post about his videos. I think one interesting thing was that Indians get hyper defensive about their country, you can smell the insecurities. He always puts fake edgy captions in his videos, but Indians get super offended in the comments. In comparison, the Chinese are just laughing at his weird comments. Indians are claiming he is badmouthing India on purpose cause he gets more views or something. Lmao, China is fighting haters armed with billions in propaganda budget on western platforms and still winning.
He has a video on this China trip on his side channel where he shares more thought. Some of them are clearly wrong and offensive, but I think Chinese people are tolerant to diverse opinions, cause Chinese people are proud and confident. This can't be said for the people belonging to the other 东大 country.
His videos about in India also raises some interesting point about the connection between hard power and soft power. In his latest Delhi video, he jokes about how superpowa is nuclear armed but still a shithole country, makes us question the priorities and whether getting nukes was worth it or not. I objectively think India under the governance of foreign superpowers would be a blessing for the local population, but even the British thought it wasn't worth it anymore. Indians developed nukes mostly to counter China, due to their resentment of China for the war in 1962, not because they lost, but because the Chinese thought they weren't worth colonizing.
I think a lot of us have internalized this Chinese model of development and tries to apply this framework to other countries, even though Chinese/ML theories explicit says every country needs to find their own model of development. An example of this can be found in the discourse regarding India and its military generally along the lines of build nukes, self sufficient arms industry, lower corruption, domestic competition yada yada. This line of thinking is incorrect and not constructive for the world from an overarching perspective.
Why does India need nukes? Why does India need 6th gen fighters? Why does India need aircraft carriers? Why does India need a domestic semiconductor Industry? Answering because China has it is a terrible answer. Do those things genuinely make India a better country, or you just feel like it makes it a better place due to your familiarity with China's development.
China was at the forefront of military technology 2000 years ago, 1000 years ago and is returning to its root, does this apply to India? China was the world's factory exporting, silk, tea, porcelain, metallic goods throughout history, was India also the main exporter of high value processed goods? Trying to change India into something it isn't suppose to be will always end in failure, the faster Indians and the rest of the world understand this fact the better it will be for everyone.
