It’s not about that and I’m prepared to call modern Iran for what it is. A coward, filled with compromised spiritually broken people who would rather become Jewish slaves than heirs to Persia. They are effectively like the Tiananmen Chinese people of 1989, river elegy and all. Totally compromised and spiritually western. They are basically no different to Indians in this respect but are not nearly as annoyingly kanging as Indians thankfully. And they do utilise deodorant which is a major plus.
Maybe XJI and the leadership does not have to face the same options and choices that Iran's leadership have? Does Iran even have Cheyenne Mountain?

While not exactly the same situation as Iran, this shows why Xi is such a great great strategic leader. The degree of political legitimacy, social culture, and economic prosperity/distribution were abysmal before him. Xi's efforts at spiritually cleansing China from internal disease and Western infiltration, is what has really transformed China this past decade

Also special props to Jiang for decisively and bravely implementing strict patriotic education after the 1989 riots

Jiang was the one who banned PLA from running business, that was a really big deal in retrospect.

Anyway here we are:

Okay cool but without further action such ceremonies no longer carry anymore meaning. If you think a tit for tat attack targeting Israeli politicians by aiming at government buildings is uncivilised, an alternative would be to target military airfields with ballistic missiles with the aim of taking out planes on the ground. Russians have been having a lot of success with their Iskander in this role in recent days.

Iran's leadership probably cannot bring the country into ideological compliance without turning Iran into something like the map of China during the Spring and Autumn period, in which case you have to wonder if the juice is even worth the squeeze, has anyone bothered to check an ethnolinguistic map of Iran lately?

I must disagree. 2000-2010 was nowhere near as bad as 1980s and 90s. Not even close.
