Re: Malaysia Airlines Plane is Missing
In the last few hours here in the US, most of the news services have been reporting that the two stolen passport owners were Iranian citizens, one 19 and one 29, with one or both being individuals who were seeking asylum outside Iran. Guess we'll have to see where that goes.
The search now includes 40 ships and 34 aircraft.
Malaysia Airlines said the search had expanded to the Straits of Malacca between Malaysia's western coast and Indonesia's Sumatra island. (As they continue searching the intended flight path with no results, they will expand the search).
Again, if it failed catastrophically at 35,000 ft at normal cruising speeds, the debris field would be very large, and any larger pieces of the aircraft would have sunk. Still, a lot of debris should have floated...but by nw will be spread all over creation. As large as such a field might be...it is still small compared to the expanse of the sea there. Not an easy taks to find...particularly as time goes on.
Again, my prayers are for the families and loved ones...may they find closure to this tragedy, and for the many people involved in the search. May they too be safe, and be granted success in their efforts.
