How is muddying the waters help India?
Both India and China knows full well India looses and looses horrifically badly in a fight.
India is behaving like a spoilt little brat by trying to push as close to the line as possible without triggering a full smack down.
In that sense, Chinese restraint and disciple has been a massive boon to the Indians are they know exactly where the line is, and that they will be fine so long as they don’t cross it.
Indian tactics appears to be to continuously probe for openings and then fully exploiting any found to seize any and all advantageous positions it can, because it knows that Chinese standing orders and PLA discipline means Chinese troops are massively limited in what they can do to evict Indian troops once they have managed to grab a toe hold.
That is the unreported normal on the boarder, and it is a testament to the PLA soldiers on the front that they Indians get as few openings as they do given their difficult terrain and limited resources those PLA soldiers need to deal with.
Things only gets escalated to international news when either the PLA decide enough is enough and publicly warns India, or some Indian hothead does something stupid that gives the PLA frontline troops the required preconditions to respond with deadly force.
It helps India create doubt and maneuver however they want when it comes to creating and spreading false narratives!
That's it though. They dwell in the "war of perception". When it comes to actual war, they falter and get slaughtered. It'll be like a modern military fighting a horde of 5th century foot soldiers.
India has no UAVs of its own LOL the only ones they have are some really low end recon ones and many are actually just DJI drones with cameras
India has very few artillery pieces they can airlift to the fight. Fewer rounds in its entire arsenal than one PLA training session. Granted they will be able to destroy PLA's forward deployed units with relative ease, but that's when the whole operation stops. By then, they would be inviting the full wrath of CCP. Modi's head may not stay on his shoulders after any daring Indian moves. So what's left? Intrude into areas where PLA have no constant presence, make a fuss on media, and then run off like they did in Reqin.
Indian leaders know PLA's ability. Their statements make them sound capable of putting up half a fight when the entire world's military intelligence knows what the outcome would be. Rest assured, Indian leaders will do EVERYTHING to avoid actually fighting. Notice for the last 5 months, PLA has occupied China's claims and half India's claims with no shooting from India. They will only resort to options 3,5, and 6 I've listed in a previous post. They will make noise about war at their bravest.
