Global Times' take on the recent shootout.

In this article it's mentioned that the Indian troops could have fired shots in the air first. But also mentions that Indian troops fired at Chinese troops.

There's also mention that India is also having a border conflict with Pakistan, and its more serious there. Are there any news from that second front?

It shouldn’t take eight hours for a scout to walk over there from Chushul?
Unless we want to believe PLA have taken Chushul Airstrike, in which case a torrent of Type 15s might already be on their way into Chushul itself.

I doubt it, but nevertheless something extraordinary must be happening at the front line right now.

Not sure what this signifies, maybe PLA have taken Blacktop (and renamed it).

The new name translates to "Mt Divine Artillery"

That Indian guy was being sarcastic over at the other forum.

Again rumour, so take it with a grain of salt. However the fact that it mentions Paoshenshan (aka Blacktop) which matches with what the Indian guy was saying about name change leads credibility to this.

Translation:

Exciting new from my source! There's an Indian position on Paoshenshan. PLA forces warned the Indians to leave, Indians responded very strongly, ramming PLA vehicle and firing into the air.

Once gunfire was heard PLA was forced to respond. The Indian position was destroyed and PLA objective was completed. Situation stable. Casualty unknown, battlefield is in PLA hand and PLA was responsible for cleaning up the battlefield. There are photos of this but I dare not post them.

Indian media are all in shock, Indian Army may not dare to reveal the truth. Indian defence minister latest update says China and Indian cannot disengage currently. Current tense situation man affect China-India relation. Both sides need to engage in discussion.

Further rumour says PLA opened fire with 14.5mm heavy machine gun:

If you don't have photos, don't even suggest it. If you do have photos from decent sources, at least offer PM links of something rather than mentioning it. It's a big claim to make and let people think there may be more to the fighting than formally presented by both sides.
