China economically and strategically is much more important to Russia than India. India was just a Soviet Union hedge in Asia specially Indian Ocean and against Chinese from south to relieve pressure on there eastern front so they can concentrate on Europe and Asia.

India didn't move troops under garb of an military exercise from TAR to ladakh to grab Galwan heights.
There is hardly any reporting on this in Chinese news until this afternoon. Most people are still concerned about coronavirus in Beijing.
India and China should have peace. Peace is needed to develop each other economies.
Chinese social media won't permit photos with dead body. No one in China care about how many Indian soldiers were injured or dead. Indian soldiers death wont make us feel happy about even one injured PLA soldier. Most of us just care about our soldiers' condition.
Asking what Russia thinks about this is like asking what Ja Rule thinks about this.

Apparently the location of the standoff occurred was close to a very steep cliff. I would not be surprised in the slightest if some soldiers fell over and were killed during the scuffle.
India does not want a major war. That’s for sure. But this kind of border skirmishes will happen on and off for the next several years. As long as India feels China is being constrained by US, it will continue to provoke China.
