Well senior US military leadership do have access to up to date satellite footage. Easily confirmed but look at the flame stoking from US while disengagement is being worked out between India and China. As soon as the drama settles a bit, they are there to restart flames and put political pressure on Modi to act.
If Modi does get pushed into acting aggressively, this could be a dangerous situation for India and China. Hopefully Modi's military advisors are up to the task to inform him a war with China will be pretty much over before it starts. They controlled BJP delusions when the clashes and initial PLA occupation of dispute occurred.

Yes. If you account for the 1.5km within China then it is within the old and new LAC. but the other 1.5 is within India (not even LAC).
