In fact, I believe the big customs now China can export industry installations to are from Asia, such as Indonesia, India, Pakistan, etc, where religion factors plays so important influence on business that China is always careful to the point of you mentioned.
China wont export the FC-1 to India due to politics.
Anyway, India's already making a fighter jet; so the business factor as you said will not be considered either.

However, the FC-1 will find a market in many muslim nations (like Bangladesh), African and Latin American nations.

If that is the stage of the 4th prototype now, then it is likely to take a few more months for its first flight.
Can you also translate the headline which seems to be saying something about F-16 if i am not wrong?
My guess is that it says, "The F-16 of China" or "The answer to the F-16" .

What I would like to know is that how many test-flights has the FC-1 gone through, and how many does it have to go through before flight certification ? And since Pakistan is a major partner in the project, wont its airforce conduct test-flights or will it accept the PLAAF's certification ?
Is the P-4 the last prototype of the FC-1 or are more planned ?

If the P-4 is the last prototype, then it is unlikely that full-scale production shall commence in Pakistan and China by next year. Only a limited production may be possible in that case.

Thats not Prototype-04 in its form today, its either an old picture of P04, or a different prototype.

PAF has ordered (or will order soon) 8-16 pre-production JF-17s for integration, training, weapon & avionics testing; these JF-17s will be induced by the end of 2007. The first proper JF-17 squadron will likely be commissioned by 2009.

Re: JF-17: New Pics

It is a good development for Asian Aviation at least. India will monitor it closely for its military threat and Russia must be worried for its threat to its aviation market.
Now I hope that the you-know-what shall also get its third prototype flying soon.

It must be noted that the credit for development has been given only to CAC and not Pakistan. Words like "technology used for the 1st time in China" prove that the input from Pakistan is only monetary and nothing else.

i know those pics are not taken at the precisely the same angle but is it just me or are the wings different? i thought only lerx were enlarged but now it looks to me like leading edge has been swept back slightly more than on first prototype.

Russia can either see the glass as half full or half empty, but it is better they see it half full and make the best of the situation by offering avionics. Specially for export versions. Where ever FC-1/JF-17 beats Russian MiG-29 in sales, Russia can offer some advance avionics. However, considering the latest advancements in Chinese avionics, it is difficult for Russia to even satisfy many users in avionics department either.

Re: JF-17: New Pics

Many Chinese sources have claimed that the PT-04 has flown on 28 April. I wonder why there hasn't been any news update on the sinodefence website? I remember sinodefence website update immediately after L-15 first flew. Or the news about the first fly of the PT-04 aren't reliable?
