But I do still occasionally go to Bharat Rakshak, and when I do, I never fail to get a mental image of ...a bunch of mentals gathering there, oblivious to reality, induldging in mental circle-jerking year after year after year...

Because WS-10 is a leaky, fragile and snail paced paced piece of crap.

Surely every nation has its fanatics and fans. Let us skip what they say or what we think of them. It is not relevant. We do have enough good sources and tons of pictures. I have been checking every panel or antenna and without looking inside I can say they Chinese are doing a superb job for fraction of the investment. Whether the quality is less? I do not think there is huge difference between high performance fighterjets. There is a fine line of minimum quality or either you results are hugely negative. I do know that there is a lot of difference between what Indian says and produces. I think there is a lot of raising of the eyebrows how China shows fine products in such a short time frame. I mean... Suddenly we have SD10 with anti radiation version... Suddenly we have AKG400... Where they developed or tested is unknown. It is there...

I am no expert in counter espionage, but I can think of a few places. Gobi desert would be a good place. Almost all the missile testing facilities in china are located in the Gobi. The desert is so huge that it becomes so easy to hide anything in it. No other nation with the similar or better capability as China has the luxury of having a playground that huge. It's so easy to keep anything secret in there, especially something like testing a few missiles. All the military sattelites can see is a few permanent structures as missile testing facilities. No one can have any clue as to what kind of missiles being tested.

Actually... the US and the UK has an even bigger playground to play with; Australia. And they have played with it. The remote Australian desert was a favourite testing site of the English and Americans back in the good old days, if they are interested, they can easily restart weapons testing in Australia.

And... Russia has Siberia, and the US has Nevada and the Canadian Northern Territories...

Why do you all think the Europeans rush in the combat heli Tigre? Or the usage of UAV like Predator? Those kind of testing sites are not available for China. Still they have more then enough finance, labour and interests. The huge advantages western powers had are no longer there.

Thank you for the post---look at france---just to save their aircraft rafale---they go to a war with their ally libya just to prove to the world how potent that aircraft is.

My point is,you need to fight with tough guy to prove your ability.And Lybia? My god,except bombing some AK-47 guys,what Rafale gonna to do there? F-16 is proved to be a good fighter in Iseral/Syria war and the desert storm operation,comparing that Rafael bombing something in Lybia desert is like to be a joke.
