But the pictures at the link show a wreckage with what looks
like jet nozzle.

The reporter are so lazy that they used the last bird strike JF-17 mishap photo to represent this incident....

Buddy I live in Pakistan and have seen footage of the crash site. Take my word for these being two Mushaq MFI propeller training aircraft. Lion is right, this is sloppy reporting from a third country newspaper.

This is right. Reporters are sometime lazy or cannot find real pix or unprofessional. I once saw a report about the F-22 but the photo is the JSF. I was misled too when I first saw the photo of the JF-17 wreckage; however, they didn't mention about the type of the crashed aircraft.

Quoting from a serbian military forum thread on JF-17 :
In reply to antibody the poster mareCar writes the following by first giving refrence to what Antibody wrote earlier. and I quote:

ANTIBODY ::jf17 will be a reply to indian mig29/mirage2000/lca etc .......

wow! just seen this post ... its been answered by nabil05 where he states that Selex offered two variants of Grifo-s, one was 600 mm antennae, another had a 800 mm but the overall nose modification had to be redone but it did not have compatibility with sd10 .

Hi Asif,

Do you think Pakistan is risking too much to put everything at Kamra. I mean, if India manage to destroy it, Pakistan would lose everything.

I think Pakistan put way too many eggs in one basket

PAKISTAN AERONAUTICAL COMPLEX, NAWABSHAH

Pakistan Aeronautical Complex is scheduled to be completed within next twelve months. --- this is a couple of years old news ..sorry cant post links at the moment , however after its completion some of the responsibilities of kamra would hopefully be shared by nawabshah

Re: Test Flaws Postpone JF-17

radar for JF17 is fine not need for anything better, its not like Pakistan has miles of open sky to use true long range BVR

Pakistan has very little in the way of strategic depth, the flying time is measured in seconds, from time of detection to interception is very small

JF17 is the frontline fighter, in war it will be leading the attack on India, offensive operations via Naval Sqaudrons equipped with C-802, its task is to engage and down any aerial threat which includes India premeir fighter, the Su-30 MKI

Sukhoi might be a good fighter but its large and bulky, have you seen a pics of a Flanker compared to a F16 sized fighter, its massive, its losses it advantage with powerful Israeli systems when its comes within visual range, it has good acceleration thanks to its twin engined unit but WVR is Pakistan Air Forces strength, its where the fight will be decided and for a attack a 3:1 ratio is preferred, India will losse many aircraft over Pakistan

majority of the air battles will be WVR, and that territory belongs to PAF, JF17 is designed to get in close and dogfight, it is equal to Su-30 MKI then it comes down to pilot vs pilot, who wants it more, who has the guts and stamina, and that is something that is drilled into every PAF pilot since cadet flying school, WVR means loss for IAF no matter what aircraft is at stake

CAC to complete the the Xiaolong wing static test is still in good condition: 200% load

May 18, 03 of the "Fierce Dragon" aircraft left wing in the Central Laboratory in the aircraft industry to fly into the successful completion of the static test of the 200% load case reached the customer, which marks the improved aircraft wing strength application requirements. The results showed that, in the state of a given load, the wing structure is not destroyed, in line with the design theory. The trial for the further improvement of the kind, the wing structure to provide a full and reliable data. Fly Technical Center laboratory in accordance with the design and testing requirements in order to ensure the smooth progress of the trial, as detailed and full preparations before the official start of the trial, many times 40% load pre-test. The experiments were carried out 100%, 150%, 200% load of the three kinds of loads. The trial period, China Aviation Industry, deputy chief engineer Yang Wei went to the site and assumed personal command, an expert on Pakistan, the relevant departments of the aircraft industry, and relevant members of the unit on-site participation throughout the trial.

Re: Test Flaws Postpone JF-17

i guess i'm politically incorrect (in this forum), but i'm just not impressed by the jf-17. it seems, to me, a bit too budget and second rate for serious consideration and plaaf seems to agree. it's strictly for export to second rate economies. few countries that aren't either second rate economies, or presently desperate for combat aircraft, have expressed interest in this platform. jf-17 simply is not competitive as a a front-line combat aircraft in the present air combat context. it is essentially, a replacement for the j-7, another budget, second rate platform.

ultimately, i believe exports of the j-10b will form the backbone of china's combat aircraft sales.

Unfortunately, we aren't sure if J-10B will ever enter production. To me, J-10B is just a testbed for J-20.
