well there is no "give" ot "take" between to brotherly countrys, China has always supported Pakistan in a all weather relationship, not by govermernt levels but at the people level is well

anytime there is Chinese in Pakistan they always wellcome, I remember landing at Islamabad airport in summer of 2005 and a Chinese man was at the back of a long queue and everyone asked him to come to the front and he was done in like 5 mins, cleared security and away he went

China gifted Pakistan a F6 fighter after our 1965 war, after US embargoed F86 Sabres, it was a basic plane but its the best China had at the time today they are making J20 and Carriers like candy, how time has moved on

I wish Pakistan could ride on China's economic progress more. There should be more economic joint ventures other than the Gwadar port. The Kaghan Valley is an out of this world beauty that can offer something to Chinese tourists.

bit OT but I would say nonetheless.

Pak Should think about get its house inorder first, this is the requist for economic progress.
No one, not even Uncle Sam or CHina can and would provide everything for Pak.
now that having said.
what China (and US, if it has the clear vision) can do is to provide for an stable external environment for Pak to do that.
But the impetus must come from with in.

The best way for that would be a pipeline or railway line from the Arabian Sea to Pakistan's border with China. The economic spinoffs of it for Pakistan, and China, would be immense.
But unfortunately until the security situation there improves, such a pipe or rail line will only be a magnet for attacks.

Pakistan is to convert its railways to standard gauge, to avoid break of gauge trouble at the borders with Iran and China and, eventually, Afghanistan. This will provide a lot of work for many railway workers and will likely attract financial support.

Re: is JF-17/FC-1 good enough? why doesn't China supply J-10 to Pakistan instead?

300 million dollars is developmental costs. We are giving Pakistan 50 JF 17 free of cost worth 1 to 1.25 billion dollars

Actually, some articles I lately came across, state that Pakistan will actually be paying 1.25 billion USD to China.

Is this true?

In that case, this the single biggest Chinese export order till date .... congrats to China, then !!!!!

To be honest I always thought "expedited" delivery simply means that the planes will get higher priority in terms of construction, but not built for free...

Some reports say "free", the NY Times, for example. The WSJ said "expedited". Bingo has been emphasizing "free", until now, so I assume Indian reports had also been saying "free".

You cannot believe everything you read!
