Well i guess Japan can't be bothered developing missile suitable for launching from their Mk-41 VLS in their warship. Other than that they are perfectly capable developing and producing indigenous land attack missiles comparable or exceeding Tomahawk.

South Korea goes another route by developing K-VLS.

Other than that, the number looks formidable. 500 cruise missiles.

The more Japanese go into various fields at such late stage the more risk of failure.

The rocket was originally scheduled to be launched by the end of March 2021 but the date was pushed back by around two years due to issues with the newly developed LE-9 first-stage engine and for parts replacement following an Epsilon-6 rocket launch failure in October.

The failure of that smaller rocket meant that last year marked the first time in 18 years that there was not a single successful launch of a domestically developed rocket in Japan.

This is interesting. a P-1 AEW's

I doubt tho the cost would be optimistically less than E-2D's. Switching to larger platform as P-1 tho allows longer endurance to be attained, and in case of P1's it can still retain the 3 faced AESA's from the Marritime patrol variant. Such will allow to cover deficiencies of UHF Frequency AN/APY-9 which cannot find target altitude through vertical beamsteering (It instead find altitude via Multipath heightfinding similar as Sonar "bottom bounce" method)

Near vertical stabilisers on a 6th gen?
European concepts for next gen fighter aircraft is almost always a generation behind that of the American’s. Typhoon/Rafale vs F-22 for instance.
It does feels like while NGAD and F/A-XX look like proper 6th-gen fighter designs, both FCAS and GCAP look like 5.5-gen fighter designs only.
