Re: J-xx
I won't say that they lie but maybe they are slightly overambitious to get a nice drawing for their publication … a lie albeit was the report that Iran will buy the J-10.
Actually, there are at least
two sources now that claim there is a successor to the FC-1 / JF-17,
and that these schematics are representative of this aircraft.
The interviewee in the article I posted specifically talked about the characteristics of the aircraft in the schematics here -- dual tail fins, sharp nose, raised canopy, LERX, etc.
Clearly, if the news about a successor to FC-1 / JF-17 is correct...
these schematics are accurate.
If I recal correctly, werent the last big Hoax J-xx (the J-14 one in the hanger) was also made to look like it was part of some magazine...
And why do people lie?, Its cruel world out there, in case you havent noticed
If I recall correctly, that was when somebody took a CG artist's rendition of Chengdu's stealth fighter and PS'd it into a People's Daily newspaper. Now that was very crude, and we all saw the CG before we saw the PS'd newspaper version, so nobody was fooled.
Again Golly, the point here is this -- multiple sources have confirmed the existence of a successor to FC-1 / JF-17. There is no reason to believe it's all just a lie. Moreover, these sources link the program to these pictures! So these pictures are not merely fan-art. At the very least, they are semi-official schematics of the aircraft.
Does the article actually say these are photographs rather than CG concept drawings?
I have no trouble at all believing that the FC-1 designers have a new version in the works, and that they plan to include some reduced RCS features. That actually makes a whole lot of sense.
The only thing that's hard to believe is that this thing is already flying.
I think I've answered your question above. The interviewee / designer in the article specifically talked about the characteristics of the aircraft they are developing: dual tail fins, sharp nose, raised canopy, LERX, etc.
It's far too unlikely for somebody's random fan-art to precisely mirror the claims given by the designer. It's also not likely for somebody to take the designer's statements and make a very realistic aircraft schematic from them.
It's quite clear to me these schematics are accurate. The only question is: is that photograph of the aircraft taking off real or CG? If it is real, then this means the project is already very far along.
