Re: J-xx

Can anyone read or have better copies of these pages. The site I got these from says it's a J-14. It looks like a cross between a FC-1 and an F-35. It supposedly says that it has flown already. Does anyone know if this is legit or some fanboy mag?

about 3 years ago there's technical drawing of next generation PLAAF single seat fighter aircraft ,the drawing come from aeronautic college (Xian?)
the aircraft resemble J-35.

Re: J-xx

The article and it's respective ´illustrations´are indeed not that surprising or sensational since it is well known that Chengdu is working on a JF-17 follow on type intended for export markets. :coffee:

Roger is correct in saying that several PAF officers have recently stated that they will acquire a ´superior´ plane to JF-17 (speculative (J)F-20 designation) from China´soon´. Most people suggested instantly an export version of J-10 but obviously they were wrong...:D

Moreover there were constant rumours on the chinese web since late '03 that´stealthy´prototypes or technology demonstrators of a wide range of shapes and sizes (initially probably UAV's but then also maybe the ´real thing´...) were being flight tested in remote areas of central China. So keep watching surprises coming in...:D

P.S.:
No judgement by me whether the pics are ´genuine´or fake but PLA appears to be in a ´declassification run´recently!

Re: J-xx

Golli just remember the good old days as many suomi people in the boreal regions of northern Finland were regularly seeing UFO's in the skies and nobody could find a convincing explanation...

Well, the Russian's declassified the existence of Plesetsk orbital launch base in 1983 (...back then the most busy space port of the globe with one orbital shot every 5 days!) and now of course everybody had known ´the secret´in advance...
(...not that the bigwigs in Helsinki were really surprised but they wanted a certain cozy (and profitable...) relationship with Moscow to continue.:D)

Re: J-xx

A couple zips of Koskenkorva and even you start to see J-XXs flying around your head in nice circle:p

But in all seriousness (if there can be it in this case) have you or anyone else for that matter even bothered to think that this is most likely just another hoax as was the previous one...Remember that J-14 stripped in the hanger?? Have you considered how unlikely it would be that out in the blue we see a photograph of the new chinese fighter taking of with heavy weaponload without any realible rumour or hint of its existence before yesterday??

You (all which have without a doupt stated that this is true) seems to loose all your reason and ability to any objective and critical valuation when you see PS images like these...things that you want to see...

Quite frankly I don't believe the pics to be credible. If it appears like its cobbled from images of existing aircraft, and this one appears to be, then it ain't real. Real planes are not cobbled from existing images of aircraft. Just remember long time ago about the cobbled pictures of Lavis being passed as J-10s.

Re: J-xx

Those pics on those pages are obviously CG or manipulated. So it is automatically suspicious. But then I also remember seeing a CG T-99 long before there was a pic of the real thing.

I wouldn't take any bets but even the experts outside China have been more wrong than right in their naturally pessimistic predictions of China's military capabilities.

Re: J-xx

This fighter is not supposed to be the J-14. It is not supposed to be very low observable or low observable fighter. The article says that it is an evolution of China's "export fighter" -- the FC-1/JF-17.

It would not be surprising if the PLA is more transparent about projects that are intended to be export.

As for PS.... where in the image is there a flaw that makes it clearly PS? Of course this fighter will bear similarities to others. Look at our board's history with Z-10 attack helicopter -- every single photograph that came out has been followed with accusations of it being PS and cobbled together from Comanche, Augusta, Tiger, etc.
