Re: J-xx

A little clarification to everyone: these shouldnt be called as "pic of PAK-FA" but an artist/fanboy suggestion about PAK-FA or J-XX....otherwise someone clueless migth get the impression that these GCI fanart have actually something to do with the offical projects.

Thank you, Gollevainen

Re: J-xx

Nice CAD model. Just two things though. First the air intake seems to be the same size as a single engine J-10. Secondly, why the powerchute section is so 'squared' looking when all the other surfaces are so smooth?

Okay, you aerodynamics conneseurs. What is the major downside of vertical stabilizators angling intwards instead of outwards? I'm talking perfomance wise. I would understand that airflow might be an issue if they're close to each other, but in this concept it's clear there's a vast amount of space between them.

Nothing wrong really. With stabilizers you are free to do whatever you wish. The important thing to watch out is to prevent turbulence from hitting the stabilizers as airflow delaminates from the wing or the LERX. Something you have to experiment and find out through wind tunnel testing.

Re: J-xx

why need forward canard when the aircraft got TVC? a human pilot can not physcial stand up to 6G or beyond without suffering from "black out".
there's picture of suppose J-14 but without the forward canard posted few days ago.

A human pilot can actually withstand more with training, and a G-suit. The F-16 Falcon can do 9G's easily, and so can the F/A-18 Hornet, the Eurofighter Typhoon and the Dassault Rafale.

Re: J-xx

Withstanding does not mean sustaining over time. Black outs, rush of blood and increase of blood pressure inside the blood vessels inside your brain, the bursting of such blood vessels, often cause brain cell death. That's not good for any pilot's health.

Usually the higher G-Forces are sustained only for short periods, but the body is able to tolerate (with some assistance from a G-Suit) high G forces for brief moments, and those brief moments can be crucial between life or death.

I have to point out the flaw in your own argument. If "those brief moments can be crucial between life or death," why risk the life of a pilot by putting him/her in that situation in the first place? No matter how well-trained the pilot is, there's a chance that he/she may experience black-outs during those crucial moments. What could be more scary? The pilot was battling a computer-piloted aircraft.
