I'm not sure what engine does it use but some video shows that holy smoke when the aircraft pick it's nose up. Does that suggest something of the RD-93?

RD-93 is a smoke truck..

chief designer itself confirmed back in 2022. J-35 powered by WS-21 engines. WS-21 machine is based on WS-13 but with different materials/components and combustion chamber.

WS-13 is basically derived from RD-93 engine. that too later on improved.

J-35A two different variants present in airshow. and both powered by domestic engines.

I don't know what exactly you mean by that, just going on smoke when the aircraft moves slowly, it could be powered by anything from F135 to M88 to AL31. Says absolutely nothing about the powerplants.

There's pages of back and forth if it's ws21 or ws19, objectively speaking we can just say that it's an engine that accelerates the plane really fast, and that different J-35s had different engine nozzles.

Afaik rd-93 is only used as an option for export customers. It's absolutely not what would go on a plane before a customer requests it, and as we know so far, there's no indication the J-35 in the airshow is an export model or that there are any foreign customers.

I think it is safer estimate and less speculative to not consider additional variants of the J-35 and simply focus on "what we see".

Fingers crossed WS-19 doesn't have such issues.

Do we have better measurements yet for if the weapons bay is a foot shorter or the same length as that of a J-20?
Decreasing length doesn’t make any sense if you think about it, the missiles are a fixed length and unless you want to field an entirely new smaller a2a missile then you design the weapon bay around the form factor of the missIe. The width and depth of J35’s bay may very well be different than that of the J20, but length-wise I expect them to be very similar if not identical

What I mean is straight forward, we all know RD-93 is well-known with its smoke. When this engine is also so smoky, it makes me think that it's something derived from RD-93.
