But until picture is shown, it is still fabrications. If Hu's reputation is high then it is worth the wait.

Whether he's right or not, the only things we've been doing these few years were posting images, argument, and waiting. It's not going to change neither for the future

Except as great as Berkeley's science and engineering program is, I don't see any undergrad graduating in 2006 and making it up the ladder in CAC high enough in 5 years to know things. Graduate maybe, but not undergraduate. We can try to flex the years a bit, and assume he has older friends, of course.

The only exception is if he has a close relative working at CAC, and got a job close to projects through relations (which is always a possibility).

I said it was probably more likely that he got info from his friends (as a matter of fact he very often quotes that he gets his info from people working in XXX). Read my post man.

No only a few very unreliable sources have come out with the VTOL thing and most "reliable" people have said it'll be a Conventional 4th (5th) gen aircraft.

I did >__>, I was operating under the assumption that any of his friends would be around his age, which of course might not be true.

You'd be surprised at how young most of the people working in China's aerospace industry are.

Yang Wei, J-20's chief designer, is only 48 and was a lot younger when he got involved with the JF-17 project. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of China's top talents could get jobs in the field pretty early on.

Hu never said that the triplane design made it through. What he did say, on repeated accounts, was that the SAC design ended up too long and heavy to qualify for the competition. They are now working on a heavy multi-role stealth fighter. Competition for the carrier based fighter didn't start yet, apparently.

Yeah, but you're talking about people who'd hardly be 30 (assuming they were undergrads in 2006).

giving the complexity of VTOL aircraft, likely inlcuded russian assisstance,it could be reverse engineer of YAK-141 VTOL.
could it be same aircraft reported in the japanese newspaper report of mysterious VTOL aircraft .

Or it could be that this VTOL plane doesn't exist partly because of its complexity. A bigger reason is that no branch in the PLA requires a VTOL aircraft over conventional. GGwp
