I'm pretty sure we'll continue to see flight tests of 2002 on an almost daily basis. AFAIK only fairly basic flight tests are conducted at Chengdu, making sure the plane can fly safely, meeting basic performance requirements, and all onboard systems function normally. Having said that if the J10 program is an indicator these tests will continue well into the initial phase of serial production. Even after that all newly built frames will have to go through flight tests too, so the daily airshow will probably go on for the next 20 years or so. The thing is wall climbers will loose interest in shooting photos and videos long before that. And that is the name of that tune, hopefully they will resume the Chengdu daily airshow with 2002, I do hope we get to see our big sister occasionally, I am excited to see what the envelope expansion will bring to the J-20 fleet. If they find any uglies, 2001 will likely get the upgrades and 2002 will likely see them next? I really don't expect to many issues, well let me rephrase that, I don't expect to see to many major issues.
So Yanliang is PLAAF's own aircraft test centre, right?
CFTE is China's national aircraft testing and certification center, it certificates all new type military and civilian aircraft entering service in China. Right now it's working on type certification for both J15/16 and COMAC ARJ21.
