Exactly ... please stay on topic.

More propaganda. Most people climbing the ranks at 611 got multiple mentors. Go under each section chief for specialisation. Once they find the section they interested and good at, then stay there.Very true. Dr. Song was actually Yang Wei's mentor at CAC and quite literally took Yang Wei under his wings. Once Yang Wei almost decided to study and work overseas due to lack of a promising future with CAC or indeed China's aviation industry. He also at some point branched out to start a software company to earn some extra money. Chinese defense industry were starved for funding at the time. Luckily, Dr. Song saw his talent and convinced him to stay with CAC and gave him more responsibilities in FC-1 and J-10 projects, two of the few high-visibility defense programs at the time.
Dr. Song is highly regarded in China's defense community, indeed, even nationally.

Anyone who has been with this forum since the early days knows that PiSigma is credible.Really?
As far as I can tell, most people climbing the ranks did not get the chance to have the significant roles with FC-1, J-10 and J-20 that Yang Wei got. Not in all three of them. And those three programs have been the most important ones for 611 in the last three decades. For quite some years after Yang Wei joined 611, China's defense industry had suffered significant brain drains due to lack of funding and career opportunities. Yang Wei was a prodigy (went to college at the tender age of 15) and was clearly good at software (he led the team to develop the flight control system for J-10, some kind of a "first" in China). Anyone knew something about China twenty years ago knows that he could work for the IT industry and made much more money. Indeed, he did for a while, moonlighting.
The above are all FACTS. And they're the factual basis to my points: Yang Wei got talent, could have a more profitable career otherwise, but he was recognized by the management in general and Dr. Song in particular and had been given pivotal role in the few most important programs of the company/institute/defense industry that few other have. Are there any propaganda here at all? Please enlighten me.
If I'm not mistaken, I seem to remember that you mentioned your Dad/Mom/Uncle/Aunt worked for CAC. If you want to share/show off some of your relevant privileged insider knowledge to prove that what I said above are factually wrong or why they're propaganda, it would be much appreciated. What you said above, about some bureaucratic process in 611 are not very relevant to my points and proofs that they are propaganda.

Of course he might not be right about everything, but you also questioned (if only mildly) his background, and on that specific contention I thought it was worth giving some secondary input.She/he might be credible. Does that mean she/he is right on everything?
I question his specific assertion against my points, not his overall credibility one way or the other. Does his credibility - and you made a blanket statement on behalf of "anyone who has been with this forum since the early days" - automatically substitute for any specific arguments?
Really?
