Agreed, but what makes me suspicious are these two IMO contradicting statements that (1) few peoples already had the "previlege" to have a close look up to a WS-15 but (2) also that only few people did realize it as a new engine.

Also it was said, that the nozzles not only differ by numbers but also by shape... so are these guys/peoples bad in recognising such major differences?

That sounds like a more reasonable explanation than the idea that JJ20 had already been flying with WS-15, tbh

不过 however 许多 many 人 person 还是 still 有 have 机会 opportunity 看见 to see 装在 installed on 20上的 on j-20's 15的 WS-15's 菊花 nozzle 的

Then Gongke states that if you see a WS-15 nozzle, it's a WS-15.

What we can definitely ascertain, from the J-10 picture, though, is that the TVC nozzle has 15 petals, not 16. Unlike other nozzle pics, the TVC nozzle has points that jut out, making it easy to count the petals. Now to go through the infinitude of J-20 pics to find a 15-petaled silver nozzle.

If you google it, there's reports that the J-20s flying at Zhurihe were running WS-15s. So I'm going to go through those pics now and do some petal counting.

Yes, but uf you Google, you also find reports stating the WS-15 is already rated at 240kN enabling the J-20 to Mach 3.;)

So googling and reliability are sometimes different shoes.:p

Well, the goal remains to find the bloody 15 petal J-20. I think it's believable that the J-20's already testing WS-15 units, as to whether the WS-15 has achieved target output (180kn) or sufficient reliability is another question. There has to be a reason that the J-20 is rumored to go into service with WS-10C instead of WS-15, if the WS-15 is already being tested.

I checked the CJDBY thread. It looks like Gongke101 has seen the WS-15 engine on the J-20, but he won't post pics because he's afraid of getting fired and arrested.
