My read is that when compared to the J-20, the T-50 has gone for maneuverability at the expense of stealth.

Plus can you detail the calculations for the J-20 / F-35 / F-22 detection ranges.

But quite sure F-35 get a better RCS considering RCS from both and a radar as APG-77 for the Chinese and no sure they can do also good US do from very long time have much more experienceand US modules are considered the best.
Main things to consider number of modules and electr. power but big figters with more big nose for host an big radar get advantage.


With frontal RCS more big as rear

F-35 detect J-20 to ~ 60 km
Opposite 40

F-22 detect J-20 ~ 75 km
Opposite 25

T-50 get about same RCS as J-20

This is more of an "opinion" than anything else. There is no solid evidence or facts to back it up. I've heard equally valid arguments about the opposite of what you claimed above, although I cast doubts on either claims. I can accept F-22 has better RCS than J-20; hard to tell between J-20 and F-35; T-50 has probably the worst RCS just by looking at it.

Exact for T-50 also a shape matter it is very flat, flattened ofc more compact but not enough space for air inlets in S, only a half and the nozzle vanes visibles in part and this is bad for RCS.

In more 1st Russian stealth and these very sophisticared machines need time ofc, as for China...

J-20 shapes are also not good, i have yet posted, Plans are misaligned do bright spots for radar, 3 with canards !
And 1st stealth coating etc etc...



Quite sure the two US fighters get a better RCS and for A2A combat normaly have the first shot, important for all combat.
To consider IRST F-22 don' t have and is more disadvantaged mainly in offensive position.
But IRST have a range much more inferior to radars.

Aren't those hard points are stealth coated anyway? No one knows for sure what are the specs and RCS of the J-20 but you can bet China and CAC had resolve those issues and the WS-15 is coming along just fine. Only doubter, naysayers and haters likes to nick pick the J-20.

Coated or not it is not the problem they are ...and bad sure.

No, enough easy calculate a RCS and exist datas ofc approx.but enough good.
