Cool graphic I found for you length-obsessed people.

@Air Force Brat ...Those flankers...all of them, Russian and Chinese...are BIG aircraft.

SU-27s,
SU-30s,
SU-34
SU-35
J-11
J-15
J-16

The biggest ones on the list.

Even the Tomcat, the F-14 was smaller by quite a bit. It was 63 feet. The biggest US fighter listed (one foot longer than the F-22), but still, way shorter than the Flankers.

Get this, the Phantom, the F-4, just as long as the Tomcat. 63 ft even.

The Tomcat was not that big, i have some models and the F-14 is not that long, a bit longer than the F-16 but it has a very large wing span and huge air inlets the fuselage is also quiet large, the inlets of F-14 are so large that dwarf the ones on Su-27 and MiG-29

In my models the SU-27 is huge but because of its wing span and radome

The F-16 is 49 ft, 6 in. long. The smallest of those listed above in length. It's wingspan is 32 ft 8 in.

TheF-14 was 63 ft long...13 1/2 feet longer than the F-16. Not just a bit longer, MUCH longer. The wingspan of the F-14 was 64 ft when spread...but 38 feet fully swept back.

b787, the F-14 wasn't just a bit long or bigger...it was a LOT bigger that the F-16.

If you have models of them about the same size, then I suggest you probably have models in different scales. Like a 1/48 F-16 and a 1/72 F-14 or something like that.

Now, the F-15 is 9 inches longer than the F-14, but its wings span which is fixed, was 42 feet compared t the F-14s 64 feet when spread.

Exactly, these birds are all of a similar size, Tomcat, Phantom, F-22, J-20, T-50, and Flanker, and remember much of that "extra" Flanker length is nose cone and tail sting. The F-22 has a very abbreviated snoz, my point is these birds are "right sized", big enough for over water, all weather missions, and I want to applaud the Russians for their "auto-land", auto orientation systems, they make a much safer airplane.

A fighter is too squirrely to want to fly hands on in the "snot" all the time, not saying that they are not stable at cruise, but it is extremely mentally fatiquing to fly on the gages for long ocean crossings and such.
