The F-22 program didn't benefit from stolen technology through industrial espionage.
J-20 program didn't benefit from jacking other countrys' engineers by buying their greedy asses out.

How many engineers in Lockheed Martin are Chinese, Russian, German, Indian? How many non-Chinese engineers work for Chengfei?

Will the J-20 ever be displayed at Paris or Farnborough or would that be a step too far ? It would be great to see one with one's own eyes.

Ultimately the illicit sourcing of trade secrets is something that all major powers leverage, so the extent to which this did / didn't contribute to the project doesn't explain, nor should it detract from the legitimate aerodynamic, materials, FBW / sensor systems or production expertise that the Chinese have demonstrated in a very compressed period of time with the J-20 program...

Put simply, "if" the US has such a lead with the F-22 (materials, shaping, etc) your logic doesn't explain the "protracted" gestation of the F-35.

Be gracious enough to tip your hat, move on..

No, it doesn't take away from anything. Just giving Stoney a lil' somethin' somethin' back. But as for the protracted gestation of the F-35, of course it can be explained! They tried to do something completely different. F-22 is pure sheer aerial dominance and only made in 1 way; F-35 was an attempt to do everything at the same time in multiple versions that tried to share as many parts as possible, with much more sophisticated avionics. Can't really compare their development times.

Stoney, you know what I mean. Buying someone greedy with talent from another country and giving him some papers to say he's an "American" does not mean he's home-grown. If your last name is Zhang, the whole world knows where you're from and where you represent (even if you're confused about that yourself). Everyone knows that America's jet engine tech came from German scientists after WWII, not frat boys who crush beer cans on their heads when their football team scores.

On the F-22 program, there are zero Chinese, Russian, German, Indians, or any other nationalities. There are only Americans on secret programs like F-22.
And also, boo hoo! I'm so sorry I "stole" the technology that you made for a machine designed to slaughter people (very possibly my people). I'm crying a river of remorse here LOL

Not for the F-22, but the YF-23, another "secret program like this"...

Guys, it seems that these all have become quite predictable. :(

Blackstone appears to have a knack for provoking statements purposely (no imagination is needed, just keep recycling the "China steals secrets" or "Chinese engines never work"). I thought you're better than this. Then we have a bunch of PRC-defenders jumping in throwing some seemingly silly counter-punches.

These are all getting rather old. If we want to debate something, at least on something new and more exciting. :)

That's very hard to believe. How do you define "Americans". You do know that the US is an immigrant country, where most people came from somewhere, such as Russia and Germany? Do you mean that the F-22 program only accept native Americans?

I do believe that you need to be American citizens to work on these top-secret projects, but there is no restriction on what ethnicity you have to be. And it is not difficult to become an American citizen.
