it seem to me the 2011 also has a F-35 style optic pod on the bottom of its nose

That would be the EOTS my friend and I believe that's also what it is on the 2011.

Yes, and I believe she's also putting off a "FireFox" type vibe, no disrespect intended, just looking forward to seeing some nice air to air shots of this planform in flight with the gear up and "cleaned up", it may be very fast, and I believe that we are getting a much better feel for where they are going with her, and she's making me anxious to see our sixth gen concept take shape????

Nice shot of the shuttle, and draw bar on the F-35, if someone could move that pic of the C to the F-35 thread, its a great shot, shows just how heavy the gear and structure on a carrier aircraft has to be....

So... the J-20 is essentially a F-22-style fighter but fitted with F-35's avionics.

So far the noted improvements and upgrades are:
- clipped tails
- addition of EOTS
- redesigned intakes
- redesigned wheel bay doors
- smaller actuators

It's likely that there might be another variant of the J-20 so that weapons integration and avionics installation could point out any other potential improvements that could be applied.

Seems like the improved J-31 might be SAC's answer to this bird.

The competition's already over (for the PLAAF at least).

SAC can't compete with CAC and they know it.;)

Actually while the J-20 is a prototype 5th gen (Western), she has her own style, although the forward fuse and intakes are in one sense similar to the F-22. I believe the J-31 will be a Naval 5th gen, albeit slightly smaller than the F-22.
