Not power available is the limitation but speed over the ramp. They reach 80 kts without rockets and more speed isn't possible.... I'm surprised someone in China didn't try to put a JATO or RATO system on these ...

Russian Su-33 has a maximum landing weight of 26000 kg. Shouldn't be too far from that for J-15.IMO it is not how much ordinances that the J-15 can carry taking off but how much it can bring back. Does anyone know its bring back limitation?
Here is my attempt...
1. With such load, the J-15 will not be able to take-off from a ski-jump.
2. Petal arrangement-wise the engines look more a like WS-10. Where are the petal seals you see in the AL-31F? All J-15 in service have AL-31F
2a. Petals are not contracting when afterburner kicks in
3. There is nothing blocking the rear wheels
4. No blast deflector
3. PLAN does not use R-73 (Whooops! EDIT: J-15 does not use R-73)
3a. Missiles under the intake are old soviet missiles (Not sure whether it is an R-23? or Kh-25? )
4. Where are all the personnel?
The "modified" WS-10 on these J-15 implies that it has been modified for naval saline environment? Is there anyone on the know about the use of indigenous engines in J-15 - like the percentage of birds that use these Naval WS-10. Any reason not to believe the WS-15 is also poised to have a naval version?
