It would be just like any other blockade. You would inspect ships and those headed to China wouldn't be allowed to pass or at least certain contents could be forbidden from transit.
I think the use of a carrier in the Taiwan scenario is kind of limited. You would likely be better off with more air refueling capacity I think.
So while the surface fleet would be really important as an escort to the marine landing operations I think the aircraft carrier's use would be a lot more limited.
How can they make sure that the conflict will be limited to Taiwan strait? In case they try to choke mallaca straits China will make offer that Thailand can't refuse safe passage to Malaysia border and beyond .China will invade Thailand and Malaysia if they refused Right now China is building railway line from Boten on Laos China border to Vientianne and down to Thai border At same time they are building rail line from Laos Thai border to bankok and beyond
The same thing happened in WW Ii when they German secure safe passage to Italy thru Switerland
