and PLAN doesn't need 137 J-15s just yet .. perhaps in 2025-2030, but at that time the technology would be totally different
The claim is that a J-15 with serial number 137 was mentioned in the video. The first produced J-15 was serial number 100; so 137 would be 38 J-15s produced. The last confirmed number of J-15s was serial number 123 aka 24 J-15s produced.
I don't think anyone is suggesting that the mention of the number 137 means there are 137 J-15s produced, come on...
As for whether the 137 number does refer to 38 J-15s being produced, obviously we have to wait. We've all been waiting for more production J-15s to emerge to equip the second carrier, but we haven't seen any photos of new SAC production at all. It's possible additional airframes have been produced and we've just been unaware of it, but we really need photos to confirm it.
For now, we wait.

Just for you guys.. lots of mistakes in this GIF. Can you name them?
Here is my attempt...
1. With such load, the J-15 will not be able to take-off from a ski-jump.
2. Petal arrangement-wise the engines look more a like WS-10. Where are the petal seals you see in the AL-31F? All J-15 in service have AL-31F
2a. Petals are not contracting when afterburner kicks in
3. There is nothing blocking the rear wheels
4. No blast deflector
3. PLAN does not use R-73 (Whooops! EDIT: J-15 does not use R-73)
3a. Missiles under the intake are old soviet missiles (Not sure whether it is an R-23? or Kh-25?

Given that they don't have catapults I'm surprised someone in China didn't try to put a JATO or RATO system on these to increase the payload capacity.
China has plenty of experience with liquid fuel rockets they could use from their space launch sector.

In an extreme wartime emergency, they might resort to such a method but totally unnecessary during peacetime.
