If you think that is bad you should read about the British Tornado ADV and its initial Blue Circle "radar". They couldn't get the radar ready in time for IOC so they just put a concrete ballast in its place (Blue Circle is a brand of cement). So it could basically use Sidewinders to defend itself.
It is just pure lack of investments. The same thing with regards to the engines for Eurofighter. The EuroJet consortium has developed versions with improved thrust and TVC like a decade ago. But good luck seeing them in service. Like ever.

Supposedly it is a straight flight with no stops. Might be first time for August 1st? Not sure whether they’ve done it when they went to UAE.

Either way it looks like China is pushing hard for fighter sales to the Middle East after success with L-15B. Of course PAF will be the best salesman in that regard. Keep on kicking butts during Spears of Victory next month!

Are new J-10Cs still being produced for the PLAAF (not for export)? I've seen various conflicting claims about this, that either production was entirely halted or it's still continuing in small quantities.

Stopping completely is bad omen because all the supply chain get stopped and suppliers switch to other products and so on. If they still want to sell them or buy them in the future, the best is continuing to do small batches just to keep everything alive.

There were claims they would be moving the production line to Guizhou I think. But that does not seem to have happened.
