But do we have any evidence on a Fleetwoods upgrade to lets say J-10AG standard? AFAIK we have only a single image of one aircraft and not even a certain detail - like a grey radome - to differ between A and AG.

I’m not even sure that they follow the grey redome rule for J-10A/S. The newer J-10S all have AESA but the dome color is still black.

I wonder if something similar is happening with the older J-11B. Radome stays the same but radar has been upgraded. You can’t really tell unless you open them up.

Now you surprise me ... since when do the "newer J-10S all have AESA"? This is the first time I hear this!!!

A query in regards to the J-10D variant. Forgive my ignorance as I am a recent PLAAF watcher, is the J-10D variant still in development? If so, what would the supposed specifications be, and how would it fare with other 4.5 generation aircraft?

There is no evidence that there is a J10D development. And there is a high probably that it will never be.

J10D was a creation or imagination of Fanboys that spread to others who wanted to believe that it exist.

Even if referred to in this post only as a certain STC brigade, the Eagle's head clearly shows this J-10C carrying the rarely seen K/JDC03A targeting pod & a LGB is from the 131st Air Brigade at Luliang.

Do we have any news confirming the supposed first ever combat operation for the J-10CE?

Yes it has provided aerial escort for JF-17/F-16 strike package. Apparently they used the dragon’s advanced EW to great advantage.

Technically J-10 series has been used in a lot of cat and mouse games in ECS and SCS. But this is indeed the first combat use of the type.
