Cover for the removable IFR tube. They just install a cover panel with primer, like the canopy.

are those streaks of rust build up on the belly of the aircraft in front of the yellow panel cover? or just dirt?

could it be a side exhaust of some kind for the engine?

This aircraft is a J10B testbed/prototype for WS-10 engine. Probably J10B prototype #1035. The "rust" could be stain from lube oil or hydraulic oil.

Right. Aluminum/titanium doesn’t corrode the same way iron does.

I don't remember ever seeing J-10 with a glide bomb, do we know for sure it's in service with the PLAAF?

All I know is Jf17 can carry those. And J10 is better used at air Superiority role.
