Im amazed, how can you tell whether it's a kd88 or a yj-83k

Also why there are so many different missiles instead of just 1 standard ashm
can't comment on the rest, but the seekers look different. KD88 also has those datalink antennas.

Have we seen any real photos of J-10s with KD-88s?

ha, YJ-91s and LGBs here also

The most obvious is that KD-88 has wingtip antennae, YJ-83K doesn't.

The image that Deino posted is a training KD-88 (not YJ-83K), lacking fins and other features.

Also, KD-88 carrying aircraft generally have a datalink pod somewhere on them. YJ-83K doesn't have such a pod.

Now I‘m again confused … #5307 clearly has fins and this is the YJ-83K traNing round, however #5309 - the one without fins - is a KD-88 “lacking fins and other features“. Or am I confuse something again?

KD-88 = fins with antennae
KD-88 training round = no fins or tails or other details compared to real KD-88

YJ-83K = fins without antennae
YJ-83K training round = looks virtually identical to real YJ-83K, except with some removed details like a blunt air intake etc

sndef888 was asking how we can differentiate a YJ-83K from KD-88
I was explaining the differences between YJ-83K and KD-88 -- but also pointing out that your image of the J-10 with the KD-88 (5309) is a training round and is not what a real KD-88 looks like, and doesn't include the key differentiating features between YJ-83K and KD-88 (the antennae on the fins).

On the other hand, the picture in 5307 shows a YJ-83K training round yes, but it is also accurately representative of what the real YJ-83K looks like in terms of key details.

I know, but since you mentioned this:
...
The image that Deino posted is a training YJ-83K, lacking fins and other features.
...

But in only one of the two images posted the missile carries fins anyway, and IMO the one with fins is a YJ-83K and the one without is a KD-88, both are training rounds.

Here a better version of that one with fins and I'm pretty sure this one is a YJ-83K training round:

Ah I see -- mistake on my part -- I meant to write KD-88 rather than YJ-83K.

I.e.: the image in 5309 is a KD-88 training round lacking fins and such.
I'll edit the previous post.

For the purposes of illustration seeing as we've discussed it, this is what the real KD-88 looks like, and note how it is different from the training KD-88 (in post 5309 which is basically just the central missile airframe, lacking fins and air intake)

And note how in these pictures, we can see those antennae on the end of the midbody fins, which is not present on YJ-83K.
