The PLAAF should recieve its first J-10B's this year and become operational somewhere next year. And we have seen the Type 052D being commissioned today. We are seeing a whole new generation of weapons being inducted into the PLA.

all j10 had the same two tone gray paint scheme.
as for the roundel, in addition to low viz gray options could also be highly desaturated and contrastless red and a roundel with red instead of yellow, gray instead of red.

It looks different, especially the rudder. If I'm not mistaken, the rudder is now of a lighter tone.

I think the rudder is positioned to yaw left and therefore deflecting the light differently; but the vertical stabilizer does look darker.

Happy Birthday J10! Exactly 16 years ago, J10 made its maiden flight, and hence started the journey to become the first Chinese third-gen fighter aircraft!

To me, the birth of J10 is a mark that Chinese could finally design and produce world-class fighters:)

Regarding J-10B I think is better to say 4+ GEN fighter Class

Sorry for that but it's just that Chinese tend to use the generation system whereby fighters like F15, F16, J10, Su27 etc are considered 3rd gen while F22, F35, PAKFA, J20, etc are considered to be 4th gen.

And fighters like Su35, J10B, EF2000 and Rafale are considered 3+ or 3.5 gen.

I'll try stick with the 5 gen system next time to avoid ambiguities.
