Well it seems that the WS-10s have seen a lot of time and money spent on it. The engine will take time to come online, but then again, its worth the wait. A WS-10 powered J-10B, is a phenomenal achievement for China, it would also be the first modern combat aircraft China will have with everything, 100% Chinese in it. That is in itself, an astonishing and worthy of praise, achievement.
I am still a believer that the J-10B ought form the backbone of PLAAF, where the fighter represents true Gen-4++ capability. The J-10B would be more than a match for the Eurofighter, Rafale, Gripen, Fighting-Falcon or Strike-Eagle. J-10Bs would see more capabilities added to it, as the fighter-jet enters service. AESA, DSI, IRST, IFR, and WS-10 capability are just the beginning for the J-10B.
Pakistan Air Force will certainly benefit from procuring the J-10Bs. It would enhance Pakistan Air Force's capabilities in ways not possible before. This aircraft, along with JF-17 Thunders, would form the nucleus of Pakistan Air Force's fighter-jet fleet. And we in Pakistan anxiously await news on the development of the WS-13 engines as well. Since it is claimed that the WS-13 would have a greater thrust-to-weight ratio than the current RD-93.
