It reports, from sources in Russia, that Pakistan ordered 36 J-10 for 1.4 billion USD

please note these sources. I'm not saying Pakistan is not, but anytime we see a Chinese link that says a Russian source or another source stated this, it's normally not that valid of a source.

There had been some comments about FC20 being an altered/upgraded J10 for Pakistan by the former ACM published in AFM. I think the word fanboy is nice but we all have less info then those mentioned. Surely we do not know the finances but there were some words in Pakistani press that the price needed to be lowered. Then again... We have seen lots of bad reporting by presses everywhere.

1. Pakistan will buy J10 version
2. it was somewhere going to be delivered in 2014-2015

Number could be 36. But I have seen a lot more reported. I think it depends on the number of planes being sent to inactive and the number of JF17's and F16's that will be added. The force is going to be J10-F16-JF17.

I don't see why this post was added. There is no disputing your point 1 or 2.

This is part of my effort to give other forumers a sense of which kind of articles on Chinese bbs can be looked at and which ones should not be.

I only said that those two points were the only points formally said by those that know the insights or have the authority. This is part of my effort to politely tell to people that in reality we all know so little. But there are few that do know more or have the knowledge to predict with high certainty. And if one doesn't know that the other knows more then one should neither degrade him on international forums or call it untrue. This is not to defame someone but clearly show the simplicity of logic and respect.

I can tell you now that we get hundreds of articles like that flying around Chinese bbs every year. Whenever we get articles that claim to be from another country, the article is either something we have already read (and can be found through google news) or something that's made up. Either case, it's not news worthy. There are literally hundreds of articles like this every year. Now, as for insiders, sure, those do exist. But they don't appear on Chinese military websites with this kind of title and article contents.

This is part of my effort to show new forumers what kind of links to not take seriously. In fact, I've done this very often to posts that challenger posted. You've never raised any concern over those. My guess is that it's because those ones are not related to Pakistan.

Unless I am mistaken, even after the existence of J-10B was leaked, the PLAAF has continued to take deliveries of new J-10A's.

And now the J-20 has been leaked.

Is the consensus that the J-10B was simply a test-bed for J-20 technologies?

It might be both, test bed and future serial production model. It is obvious that DSI has been implemented on both prototypes, AESA radar is going to be put on both aircraft (someone earlier said that it has already been tested on J-10B) etc.
