according to arabic newspaper in london, the F-16Cblock 50 sold to UAR carry "trojan horse" type virus,in case if the F-16C attempt to use it against israel, the solfware automatically shut down avionic and engine power supply.
or even erases all the solfware.

I doubt Russia will allow any Russian engines on J10 to PAF let alone Serbia. Either China get WS10 ready for J10 or there won't be any foreign sales.

Did FC-1 goes without Russian engine? You will be surprised the level of close cooperation between Russia and China.

Russia can even for the sake of China anger their close allies,India by allowing export of RD-93 engines to Pakistan. The RD-93 export will probably hurt Mig-29 sales but Russia value China as strong allies greatly.

I have strong confidence AL-31 will be allow on J-10 if Serbia chooses J-10. Of cos, domestic option will be another choice but just like what happen FC-1, CAC prefer Russia engines for export.

I reckon it's pretty much agreed there's only one production line for J10A so far, judging from the 1-2 regiments per year production rate. Since J10B is about to replace J10A production, it's more likely for them to convert the existing production line other than build another.

I guess they would stay at current capacity untill the export market becomes available.

Thanks a lot especially since it is exactly what I expected ! ... however I remember a few years ago that there were reports about a possible second line after closing down J-7-production.

But like You said, the best argument is the build-up of "only" about 1-2 regiments per year.

PLAN Color?

Hmm ... could be !

The red two-digit number in front is unusual esp. with a grey-coloured bird ! Otherwise I'm not sure if the tail-number is red too and starts with an "8" !

Nah, if Serbia aims to join the EU or "embrace the West", then they can't choose J-10 for political reasons - 2nd-hand F-16s or JAS-39 makes more sense, if they got the dough then Eurofighter Typhoon or Rafale.

Any chance that they'll go for a carrier based version eventually? The canards could help out if ski-jump take off is employed.

Haha.. Serbia joins EU? After being bomb by EU and American?? Plus they have such strong ties with Russia. Joining EU will be consider against Russia.

I am 99.9% sure Serbia will not join EU in another 20 years time.

The President of Serbia, Boris Tadic has vowed to join the EU between 2016-2020. This statement was made as early as.... Today!

Just because Serbia is strengthening ties with Western nations doesn't mean that the J-10 is out of the picture just yet. Cost and reliability are major considerations for purchasing a plane.
