I think that the Turkish recent moves there in Syria are more about laying the groundwork for how to take the largest chunk of Syria when the US is inevitably done and gone in a few years. They are preparing for the future with it. How to take the most influence possible from Iran. That's why there is no immediate payback. But, now that they have broken the strong, Iran-friendly, and more centralized Assad-regime, and laid their own foundations more, I predict they will take the entire northern Syria in the future.

Technically, they already taken the Idlib Governorate. remains to be seen if they have taste for more.

The concern now is people in Syria already tired of war..Given by actual lack of any form of resistance toward Israel encorach. But i guess as long as people there is happy, national identity or a form of independent sovereign nation is not a real concern.

Yet US Still never recognize or even tried to recognize Kurdistan that people there seems to want.
Because they still rely on Turkey for many things who also supports Israel. Covert support to Kurds is there to keep Turks busy and somewhat destabilized. It's only a matter of time until US starts propagating a homeland for the Kurds.

This came out in the context of an israeli soldier going to Brazil and getting recognized as a war criminal by the authorities which put out a warrant for his arrest. The guy them fled to Argentina

War criminals fleeing to Argentina seems quite a deja vu
Found their Nazi forefathers there.
