Such interception is possible when defending side (the most sophisticated in the wrold) has 2 weeks to prepare for it where it has already been on alert for months and have been moving assets there for a while while already having plenty of assets there. Israel/US are not Ukraine nor Iran is Russia. Israeli airspace at this point in time is probably the best defended one in the world.

Iran could have used BMs from Hezbollah to saturate ABM too, but i think that would've given Israel a reason to involve Lebenon, so a limited participation happened from that front.

Some people are missing the whole objective of the strike. It was calibrated as a face-saving move from Iran and to avoid Netanyahu's trap to expand the conflict to reel in US. All comms from US point to US wanting this topic to be closed.

US's left wing is absolutely in no mood for another US middle eastern war on behalf of Israel and especially Netanyahu.

Biden knows this.

The drones and cruise missiles being ineffective should be completely expected, otherwise CAP would be useless. A slow flying drone in the air might as well be a turkey shoot for a bunch of fighter jets.

It’s defenses are formidable, but at the same time, there are limits to how many missiles and drones that Israel can intercept and ultimately how much real punishment that Israel is willing to take as a whole given the limits of its economy and their ability to produce weapons compared to say Russia in a prolonged fight. It is true that Iran has calibrated this assault as a way to deescalate from a real crisis but let’s not think for a second that Iran cannot up the ante if things get push to shove. Let’s not forget that the costs that Israel has incurred to beat back Irans attack is a fraction of what Iran has used to attack and this is with arms that Iran would most likely consider as the lower tier compared to what top tier stuff they have prepared should things go south.

Hopefully the USA is able to prevent things from going beyond this point but this is mostly on Netanyahu not to push things to far but if Netanyahu does go beyond this point, given how Lebanon, Yemen and Iran with its proxies can attack in tandem to over whelm Israels defenses in a long term siege of constant bombardments, its cost will definitely outweigh whatever benefits there would be to keep Netanyahu around as president.

With other missiles being fired at the drones, ballistic missiles and cruise missiles, the total cost of expenditure reaches the $2 Billion mark while Iran expended anywhere between $10 million and $35 million.

An expenditure ratio of anywhere between 50 to 200!

Not sustainable at all!

I believe the old Shahab-1 and -2 have been converted into 1400km range Rezvan. This modification has been thoroughly tested in Yemen through the Burkan lineage. It provides Iran with a very cheap saturation missile.

Meanwhile the 300km to 500km range that these Shahabs represented are taken over by the Fateh-110, Fateh-313 and lately the Raad-500/Zoheir.

Rezvan together with the Shahab-3 represent Irans premier 1st line saturation missile.

Iran attacked Israel on the night of April 13-14. Iran's operation is called "True Promise" and is Iran's response to Israel's attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus. This is Iran's first direct attack on Israel from its territory, reportedly targeting Israeli military targets. The strike on Israel was carried out using kamikaze drones Shahed-136, Shahed-131 and jet drones Shahed-238. Sumar cruise missiles and Fateh-110 and Khaybar ballistic missiles are also used, capable of carrying different types of warheads, including multiple warheads. Other types of missiles are also used. Data on the number of Iranian missiles and drones are contradictory, with some media reporting that Iran has used 185 drones, 36 cruise missiles and 110 surface-to-surface missiles. The Iranian attack is currently considered the most massive drone attack in world history. In repelling an attack by Iran, Israel is assisted by aircraft from the United States, Great Britain and France. Jordan also intercepts missiles; the video shows debris from a downed Iranian missile in Aman. Israel has reported intercepting 99% of Iran's missiles and drones, but this cannot be true as Israeli residents film Iranian missile strikes. The video shows rare footage of an Iranian ballistic missile interception taking place outside the Earth's atmosphere. Footage of Iranian missile attacks on the Ramon airbase in the Negev desert was also published. According to the latest data, Israel reported that the damage from the attacks was insignificant and that it would launch a retaliatory strike against Iran within 48 hours. The United States announced that it would not support Israel's attack on Iran. The commander of the Iranian IRGC said that Iran's operation against Israel was more successful than expected and he does not plan to continue it, but in case of an Israeli strike, he will strike back with a more powerful strike. The following shows the work of Israeli air defense and attacks by Iranian missiles and drones.

Where did you get the figures of $2B and $10M to $50M ?

Israel has to spread this propaganda that the country is totally safe and it intercepted all the missiles. Otherwise the citizens will panic and run. A significant number of Israelis left the country just during the Gaza invasion, to avoid getting killed by Palestinian rockets. I'm sure they understand that Iranian weapons are more dangerous.
