If you pour salt water, it will ruin the aquifer and wells and make the land unusable for agriculture. For the rest, quite hard to fill tunnel that are permeable.

If you cannot understand conversational English it isn't my problem. I was saying that Yemen will scarcely be a better situation for the US to handle than Afghanistan. i.e. it wouldn't be much easier to handle. But you are just arguing semantics.
I asked repeatedly why is it better? What do you base this on?

That article is seriously biased. The thing is, Syria, Iraq, and Pakistan do not control their entire territories properly. Iran struck targets not under the control of the central governments of those countries. They struck targets in areas under the control of US proxies in those countries.
