The Israeli army has isolated Gaza City from the rest of the Palestinian enclave.
The Washington Post writes about this with reference to a Planet Labs satellite image (which has not been published).
From the image, according to the newspaper, it can be concluded that the Israeli offensive penetrated approximately 6.5 km to the northwest and reached the Al-Shati refugee camp.
Units moving from east to south Gaza also covered a similar distance and isolated the city from the south.
The conclusion about the advance was made based on traces of armored vehicles visible by satellite images, from which the depth of the IDF offensive could be estimated (on the map).
